since it is the weekend and few people are here, i'll take the opportunity to ask this question.

is there a way to put a link somewhere that people can click and have it take them to a specific location on google earth?

Can you not navigate to the place and the copy and paste the URL? It should have all the GET and SEND methods so the server can detrmine what to serve when clicked on..

Make a screenshot, upload the image at imageshack.us, then use tinyurl.com to shorten the link, then post the link. W3t.org works better for myspace, since they don't allow tinyurls there.

It's a crude solution, but this is what I use:

I click the Placemark icon for that place, then a dialogue box appears
which has latitude and longtitude. I copy that in the mail and tell
them to enter it in the "Fly To" box. E.g.:

36° 6'44.40"N 115°10'25.56"W

is a great place to cool off :)

You could also enter that in Google Maps (http://maps.google.com) and copy the
link at "link to his page". Then you can send them the link on Google Maps if
they don't have Google Earth.

Hope this helps,
