View Full Version : Should B.J. Lawson's race for congress be a main focus here?

Lawson and Sabrin were probably the two most popular. Now that the primaries are happening and the candidate are being chosen, it's being narrowed down. Lawson tied with Ron Paul for the best outcome in the Republican congress primaries for the candidates that we support. I have already spent my time trying to help his campaign because I saw that he is doing this right. His campaign is very active and he knows what he has to do. He recently posted a video that included their plans to win, and I agree completely. They are doing this at a personal level. Currently they are trying to buy one hundred thousand Constitutions to pass out to people... this is how we start to win! https://www.lawsonforcongress.com/donate/

They already passed out ten thousand before the primary too.

I think we need to focus on Lawsons campaign as much as possible.

However I also believe we need to look at candidates running for open seats; if we can grab one open seat and get Lawson elected that would be a shock.

"The Great Triumvirate" in the US House again would certainly rouse attention; a group not seen since the days of Clay Webster and Calhoun....it is possible; and we can return Great Statesmen to the Capitol. Although we need someone not quite as...."Scary" as those three.

This is a heavily Democratic district.

I don't think making it the main focus is a prudent use of resources. A key focus? Yes. But I believe we encounter the realm of diminishing returns when we make something our sole or near-sole focus.

I believe we need a new website to easily track polling and donation amounts for "Ron Paul Republicans" that works with their campaigns to have real-time (or close to it) information. These forums can only do so much. I think we need to start taking Dr. Paul out of focus more and putting the spotlight on battles we can win.

So... no only because we should be splitting up the work loads between site owners.

Unfortunately the Constitution is not written in plain easy to understand English...so I am a little concerned that 100,000 constitutions being passed around won't be read by people who can't understand the complicated legal language of the Constitution.

+1

100,000 slimjims-like flyers with a option to request a copy of the Constitution would be my personal choice.

I dig BJ like a dog digs a bone, I think he is the natural heir to the RP legacy and can take us the distance if we really get behind him.

A heavily Democratic district calls for exactly the plan they are doing to win.... they are doing it right. And I haven't seen anything about a Price campaign. Does it even exist?

The Constitutions they pass out comes with a slimjim. Anyway, even if somebody doesn't understand it.... it really doesn't matter. Getting this gift from somebody running for congress is enough to give your vote for people.... am I right or am I right? If I was apathetic and I was given something like this, I think I would vote for them.

"Vote for Lawson!"

but really - if they could reach every single voter - and appeal to them personally with calls, visits, and mailers - it would be highly effective

B.J. Lawson might be our only shot at getting the next Ron Paul in Washington this November. We need to get behind him now.

We need a money bomb, a big one.

I voted no because I don't think putting all of our eggs behind someone who is running in a heavily democratic district is very wise. Next election cycle, let's only focus on house races since those are easier to win, especially ones in republican style districts or swing districts. Only run a few quality candidates and put all our money and support behind them. That's what I think the future of this place should be.

I don't think it's inappropriate to call him a jerk for such things. Personally, I'd give him a warning or something if I were a mod.

Hmm. Okay then, I retract jerk comment. But every time I reply, I have to close the certificate thing. When I quote him, it comes up as if he put it in there, but what do I know?

Not much about this stuff!

P.S. To the mods, please feel free to remove all my hijack posts about this once you get the problem fixed.

And then some! I live in Lawson's district and am proud to have voted for him. This is truly a blue area. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of Kerry/Edwards, Edwards 08, and Obama 08 bumper stickers I see on the road every single day.

The fight to dethrone David Price is going to be a long and expensive one. I believe it is possible, but it will be a difficult fight. BJ is going to need an extremely large campaign war chest for this fight.

There will be one on July 4th, but this isn't the official announcement

I'm doing it with some guy who I don't know... I'm sure he's been to these forums, but probably not that much (but I wouldn't know, because I wouldn't know what he registered as here)

I will make the official announcement here in the future

There was a problem because Lyman's multi-candidate moneybomb is the same day... ours was started first, so I blame Lyman!
