IF you are looking for somewhere to post something today...I took a break from housechores to chime in...

http://politicalrealm.blogspot.com/2007/08/saturday-stew-why-ron-paul.html

Last week, we started something new in the stew. John Edwards backers were given the opportunity to share why they supported his candidacy. This week, we're giving the microphone to supporters of Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

• Why do you support Ron Paul?
• How long have you supported Paul?
• What issues are most important to you?
• If Ron Paul is unable to secure the nomination, who else would you like to see take it or who would you vote for?

So speak up, Ron Paul supporters. This is your chance to sell your candidate to those undecideds out there.

My .08 cents of fiat currency.

I support Ron Paul because he is for freedom. He does not want to run our lives. The fact that he takes his oath to Constitution seriously puts him leagues above any other candidate.

I first heard about Ron Paul when he declared in February. I asked a friend if there were any candidates that he liked, and he sent me a youtube link to Ron Paul in congress grilling the Federal Reserve chairman. I spent the entire rest of the day reading EVERYTHING I could about the man -- and I was amazed. (http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/) There is no other candidate that has written so many compelling articles and speeches on what it means to uphold the constitution and stand up for the rights of the American people. Ron Paul is as much an educator as he is a statesman.

Ron Paul's fiscal policy and lack of fear to speak out against the Federal Reserve earned him my vote immediately. The day after discovering Ron Paul, I called my brothers and said, "I found a Presidential candidate that would have gotten our dad to register to vote for the first time in his life." His knowledge and research on economics is second to none among the candidates. Maybe this is why Peter Schiff (financial consultant) donated to his campaign and said he was the only candidate that makes sense. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UuivYdiS5w)

The beauty of ALL of Ron Paul's positions is that they are deeply rooted in the Constitution. There is no need to pick and choose his "issues" if you believe in the Constitution.

Your final question is one that will also show how Ron Paul stands apart from the rest of the field. I would not vote for any of the other "top tier" candidates; and I think this position is held by most of his supporters. Quite simply, Ron Paul is uniting the millions of disenfranchised, apathetic voters that have never had anybody to vote for in the past. The GOP Primary IS our election campaign.
