Embedding videos in posts has been temporarily disabled.

It was causing problems with threads displaying. We will try out a different product on the forums so that we can turn this feature back on in the near future.

All threads should be displaying properly now. Let me know if you are still having problems.

Thanks.

I mixed feelings. The vids are cool, but I miss out on the YouTube comment wars if I don't visit the site.

Isnt it possible to make embedding optional? In some situations, I think its better that it remain a link.

The problem is that it causes people who have changed the "replies displayed" option from the default 10 to show nothing but a blank screen when they try to read a thread with >10 replies in it when the embedding feature is allowed.

I always click through, because YouTube comments are hilarious :D

I vote that video embedding be left turned off. Its not that much of a technological feat of strength to click on a link, and some of the embedded links either never played for me or played extremely slowly with no sound.

i'm for no embedding. my personal reason is, i like to see the related videos and everything. plus, it uses memory. i leave posts up for sometimes a couple days to keep checking new activity on them, and leaving embed videos up always messes with my tabs. i dunno why.

Thanks for taking care of the problem, Josh. I hope you can get it sorted out. I liked the video embedding, personally. It was a nice little feature.

Hey Josh,

I use the modification linked below to embed videos to my forum, which works perfectly. Sam (the hack author) has a great record of near flawless modifications. Not only that it has an endless possibility of sites you can embed with. You should check it out.
