And here I thought it was the actions of pro-hemp groups working Californ ia for the past 50 years.

Yes, but the point I make is that movement has been thwarted until now. Maybe its coincidence but the fact that there is a presidential candidate talking about these issues seems like it has reinvigorated that movement imho.

Especially since he's going to (because he HAS to) win!

Lets see the hemp activists are libertarians independent thinkers and dem and reps, and ron paul is a libertarian republican,i say they all did there part, but it does help to have national candidates pushing for the end of the drug war and hemp production, they kinda all work together;0 Ron Paul 2008

Ron Paul has had a lot of influence on popular culture. They're subtle, but it shows how powerful is message really is! They can't keep these memes out of their corrupt agendas. Of course, they can refrain from acknowledging their source....

The heathens....

California has been moving quickly towards legalization of marijuana for many years now. It's just a coincidence.

Not sure if everyone is aware of this...

Industrial Hemp Act of 2007 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery)

.... scroll down to HR1009

Hemp is a crop that can grow four harvests per year on lousy dirt. It is a cash crop which would rescue the small American farm and provide a huge economic boost for America. The growing demand for this time-tested fiber is no help to American farmers as they are prohibited from growing it by law. The entire prohibition campaign against Hemp was designed by the chemical companies to protect their pesticide business potential. We all can thank them for our massive cancer rates and millions of needless deaths. Thanks Monsanto! Thanks Dow Chemical! Thanks ADM! We're "dying" to have more pesticides sprayed on our once-fertile land!
