Japan usually keeps a lid on this kind of news coverage.

I still don't get the thinking of "If someone uses "fill in the blank" to hurt or kill someone with then it is the object itself that needs to be banned".

That "fill in the blank" can be anything anyone can fit in their hand odds are. I can use a bat to beat people to death and odds are if someone did it enough they would find a way to make bats illegal but what does that solve? I can then pick up a golf club or something else. It isn't the object but the dumb ass using it that needs to be dealt with.

Ban knives because someone stabbed people with them, ban cars because people run people over with them can't wait to see what's next.

Will the oil companies allow them to ban "lorries" (trucks)?

I can't wait for the day when it goes this far, myself.

How am I going to spread the butter without a knife?

I suppose I have to use a spoon, but I use the spoons for spooning and don't want to use them for butter.

Humm... would it stop violent crime if rocks, ball bats and bow and arrows were banned too?
Better start with banning hammers..... but then how would a carpenter build anything?

Perhaps it would be better to ban violent acts.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Why is it that you never hear the argument that a KNIFE is protected under the second amendment? The way I see it, a knife (or club or stick or rock) is clearly a type of "arm" that our founders sought to protect. They used the word "arms" precisely to cover a broad spectrum of instruments of war.

Where is the NRA on this issue? And other pro-second groups?

Note: Texas law prohibits almost any knife or sharp(or not so sharp) implement. It depends on the officers perception of use.

There was some garbage in this thread but it is gone now. So I'll figure out the answer to my question about how to get rid of bad posts some other time.
Too late now anyway.

Well said. I agree 100%

Less guns in society = less shootings.... and more stabbings!
