UPDATE:
Washington D.C. 8/27/2007 5:20 PM GMT (FINDITT - Top Story)

USAElectionPolls.com has an audience of about 67,000 visitors per month according to the latest statistics by Quantcast -- making it the most visited polling website with the exception of RealClearPolitics. The web site has been having an online straw poll for three days on voters' preference for the 2008 election; both Democrats and Republicans are listed.

Ron Paul is leading the group of almost 20 candidates with 51%. Even more impressive is that he currently has 1744 votes while the second place candidate Dennis Kucinich has 613 votes -- 18%. Ron Paul leads the next closest Republican competitor in the online poll 51% to 3%.

Ordinarily, very little can be made of such results. They could be flukes. The web site's target audience could be Ron Paul, etc. But USAElectionPolls.com gets an immense amount of traffic all across the United States and it is a non-partisan website that talks about all of the candidates.

The poll is still open and can be found on the front page.

Funny how Tommy Thompson has better odds than Paul, but has already bowed out of the race. What's up with that?

Not necessarily. There would be many Democrats that would vote for Ron Paul over Kucinich, it's just that they support Kucinich mostly within their own party.

No it doesn't. I've never seen Shillary or Abomination consistently top the online polls, although I would love to see those two run for the dems against Paul and Guest for the reps.

Kucinich is a real socialist. I bet he was a member of the communist party. He believes in democratic socialism though, he wants high taxes, wealth redistribution, union controlled industries, government projects, defense cuts, open borders, semi drug decriminalization, he's still against some drugs. Want to see America lose all of its businesses? Vote kucinich! He also believes in regulating all industries, there is just no way America can move forward with this guy in office, everyone will suffer equally, like the old saying goes...

His only problem is that he has no support from the same labor unions he will be helping, they will choose one of the "top tier", he can't even convert any GOP to his side, so he definitely won't win, he can't bring people together like Ron Paul can.

Small businesses will go out of business, big business will move out of the USA, millions will lose jobs, the rich will leave LOL then there will be an expansion in government jobs in order to make up for the loss in the private sectors, higher taxes as well, and don't forget about inflation.

How does a labor union operate when there are no jobs left? hmm

I didn't know that about Kucinich. I only knew he is anti-war because Dr. Paul said so. I really don't understand all of these people who support socialism (by supporting candidates who are socialists). I wonder if they really know what they're doing. I don't trust politicians or government any further than I can throw them/it--with the one exception of Ron Paul. I just don't understand why--especially after this Bush administration--people are still interested in making the government bigger! I just don't get it!!!

Well, I believe Kucinich is more of a democratic socialist. Democratic socialists believe in using capitalism as a means to their end, to tax it so that they can create a welfare state. Basically, a nanny state. Everyone will be taken care of, but you won't have much freedom, just mediocre safety. I like to be taken care of, I'm just against it because I KNOW that this system is FLAWED, so I wouldn't support it if I were to think up a productive system, I'd support it if I wanted to create a stagnant economy.

That's great, but I don't think we're going to win the nomination with 1830 votes.
