They would not have bothered if there was no competing convention date.

What a bunch of lying, cheating, stealing babies!

If I remember right from past threads on the NV convention here, there is a rule that says that if the convention doesn't reconvene within 90 days, then the results of the original convention are thrown out, and any new convention starts from scratch.

It is no mere coincidence that July 26th is 91 days from the original convention!

As UtahApocalypse pointed out, if both the June 28th reconvening and the July 26th neocon convention make quorum, which one counts?

If Juan McCain does indeed have the GOP nomination all wrapped up, then why in the hell are they trying so hard to keep any and all Ron Paul delegates out of the national convention? Why are they willing to cheat, steal, and break the law? If McCain has it all wrapped up, then what are they so afraid of? They are destroying their own party from the inside to keep Ron Paul out. Many old-timer Republican regulars are losing all trust of the GOP leadership, and when the time comes, I think we'll have their full support in removing the GOP's neocon leaders. If McCain gets the nomination, it is going to be sooooo easy to take over the GOP after he loses horribly in November. Well, easy compared to what we're doing now, anyway.

Impressive.

OK, so it is a coincidence that July 26th is 91 days from the original convention, but...

It is no mere coincidence that they scheduled the convention to reconvene on July 26th, which is 91 days after the original convention! :D

Are going to proceed with the June 28th date. Please see my other post today and help us get the word out. This is our opportunity to show that we are a force to reckon with! I agree, that July 26th date is no accident. After you read the letter from the Terhune family and those organizing the June 28th reconvene, you will see........!

At the June Convention the Chairman could and should be voted out. In my state rules if he is notified 10 days ahead and only ONE THIRD of the Party shows up and only 2/3 of THEM vote to vacate the Chair, it is done. I do not see how other states should be that different.

From what I see, the reasons for them setting a date are:

a) to say that they did
b) to divide delegates with hopes of getting less than 50%
to show up in June

According to Robert's Rules, *any* meeting in July is "within the quarter" and therefore a continuance of the prior session.

I agree, though - watch the state party argue that a quarter has passed, and that the voting was incomplete from April 26 and therefore a new meeting and fresh voting is in order.

It's apparant that the party leaders are not thinking any thing through. Anyway, go to the article in the first post and leave a comment about the timing of the convention. Other newspapers will latch onto the comments for another story. The story we can provide is way bigger and juicier.

I've emailed a couple of TV stations in Nevada about the convention date after the deadline. An email campaign might be in order if nothing else but to let other Republicans know how inept and rat-like their party leadership is if they cover the story.

We need Ron Paul to show up to this event(the June 28th convention)...It will ensure a turnout!
