Thanks for composing the letter and allowing all of us to participate.

This letter with all the signatures would also show the campaign that we are serious about writing in Ron Paul and we need to have him registered with all those states that allow write-ins.

The zip codes will also show where Ron Paul supporters are most populous.:)

Sorry, I can't sign anything that says "... McCain, is a fine individual..."
Besides I already signed a pledge not to vote for McCain put together by the same people who ran the Tea Party.

The reasons also should start with:
1) McCain is not a Republican and has been given to us by the MSM and a few party elites.
2) Every time McCain has reached across the isle the Republican Party and America has lost (McCain/Feingold... _). America and the Republican Party can not stand the advancement of these type of policies for another 4 to 8 years.
3) There is no way that McCain will be able to keep the Religious Right Coalition together as we will most certainly lose the support of a majority of the Pro-Life vote to independent candidates or write ins.
4) Independents, McCain's supposed stregnth, will have many viable options and the lie of voting for the lesser of two evils will be much harder to sell this election since there is so little to seperate McCain and Obama.
5) Economics
6) Etc.

we will not vote for john McCain, its a subtle warning that their unity isn't unity;)
we are asking them to reevaluate their choice and so called unity, umm the GOP has all the power to do exactly what we say. will they who knows?? doesn't matter anymore the McCain/GOP corruption have burnt the bridges thats what we are saying , WE WILL NOT VOTE MCCAIN, the GOP knows their corruption already and why we are doing it;)

It's maybe best to NOT include Ron Paul in the title.

And how about a third about "How to beat Obama"

In any case, I already signed it, so let's see what happens!

there are no changes.... the only change was a small bracketed clarification to show that some signers do not think McCain is a fine individual... as a lot of people had issue with the accolade. So it was a clarification point, not a change in context.....

http://www.lettertogop.com

the great thing about this site is that so many understand the principles so completely they are going to write in Ron Paul - they can't vote for anybody else, period.

the heartbreaking thing with this site (although good to know, so we can continue to inform) is the small amount of people who will vote for Obama if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination - these folks need to learn more about the principles of the Constitution, more about Obama's attendance and speeches at CFR meetings, a violation of his oath of office, and they need to know they can't look future generations in the eyes and tell them "I'm so sorry I did this to you, I didn't know, I'm so sorry. I made a horrible mistake some years ago that led to this."

the baffling thing is those that state they'd vote for Barr - Steve Kubby, a former candidate for the Libertarian party, best understood the unity needed by the Libertarian party and Ron Paul supporters - he wrote a piece on how if he got the nomination, he would tell all Libertarian Party members to vote for Ron Paul and put all resources, time and energy in promoting this campaign for liberty... now that's a Libertarian who understood the unity needed in order to save the Republic. I wish the Libertarian Party, which has no problems, apparently, coming to 'compromises in the interest of liberty' (kinda like the NRA, eh?) - should have put aside any small differences of ideology with some parts of Paul's platform and utilized this Revolution as a promotion of THE PRINCIPLES and LIBERTY and the LAW OF THE LAND - but they didn't, and that is why the Libertarian Party will never see another dime from me, unless they do something incredibly bold and change their logical minds and compassionate hearts back that drew so many to their message. Have Barr state all Libertarians should vote for Ron Paul.

We need unity to save this Republic - what really strikes me is that the Libertarian party didn't recognize the potential for new members should Ron Paul not win the election - instead, they did the most illogical thing I can think of in terms of Liberty and the Libertarian Party itself - they picked a candidate that upon close scrutiny simply does not understand the rule of law, the principles of the Constitution, nor what the words freedom and liberty mean. Perhaps they are giving him a crash course now, but to divide this unique movement into small factions is the worst, absolute worst thing the Libertarian party could do to this Republic, to themselves, and to each of us, as individuals.

My father would weep (and then probably get seriously angry) had he lived to see this moment in our lifetimes and the Libertarian Party's response to such an important time in our nation's history. If one could charge a political designation with treason, I would petittion those charges right at the Libertarian Party for what they did and continue to do to this movement. They are no better than the Democratic Party - trying to siphon votes from the uninformed, unaware and trusting.

Wow, I'm a little angrier than I thought about the Barr thing. I thought I was pretty much over it, but, well... nope. I'm not.

Anyways - interesting link. Thanks for posting it.

How are you coming on getting this sent out to ALL the meet-up groups? Another member of the group posted that she did not agree with everything in the letter but signed it anyway. I posted how hard you are working in CO and strongly suggested they sign it. We will see.:)

Signed, looks like a petition with some credibility. Its too bad Baldwin wasn't a choice on there. I suspect many of the "Others" were for him.

not so good, many of the meetup emails go through the organizer
and most haven't made an authoritative decision on it yet.

A couple others I could only reply to the individual person who sent
whichever email they sent. And many of those individuals I suspect
don't read and reply to replies.

I also posted a message on one of the National Meetup messages that
I got but haven't seen anything there either.

IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO GET A HOLD OF ONE OF THE NATIONAL
MEETUP GROUPS, THEN WE SHOULD BE HITTING THAT UP!!!

The best luck I've had is posting messages (not an email) on my local meetup.

It's too bad that they get to see the indecisiveness in our group. All signatures should have been to write in Ron Paul. Merely my opinion. Dr. Paul is one of them, that they chose to shun and ridicule. He was never given the credence and respect of his peers. Even doctor's and cops protect their own. No one says they had to bow down and kiss his feet (though I think they should have). They could have afforded him an equal chance same as the other candidates. I have had people tell me that they think Ron Paul really doesn't want the job. That he really didn't think it would get this far. Donkey doo, there is no one running or ran this year that is better qualified.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Can't write in someone in Texas unless they are a declared write-in. Chances are very likely that Ron Paul won't declare himself a write-in candidate, so any "write-in" vote for RP will not be counted- period, no discussion.

I'd rather vote for someone who I can actually vote for.

i assure you when the time comes to vote ,we will not waste our vote on a dem or a republican(mccain)

I did choose write in, my wife did barr, but in the end, we will all make our vote count hint;) my vote will go to the lp before id ever vote for a war monger dem or republican.

any vote that isnt for a republican is against a republican:) the fact is this whole list drains the republican party,no matter where the vote goes.. It doesn't go to mccain and that's the point;)

A lot of simply haven't made up our mind yet mainly because

a. There haven't been ANY national conventions yet
b. There haven't been any debates showing how bad Obama and McCain are against each other, and how bad they are for our country.
and
c. It's still too early a lot of people haven't looked into third party candidates YET, and frankly a lot of people may just stay home this year out of disgust.

6,152 have only signed this letter as of the writing of this post.
WTF?
That is a ridiculously low number for the amount of time this has been available. If this is the best we can do to get the word out to others, especially on the INTERNET, we might as well pack it up. I have posted the link on at least four other forums I participate on, if everyone on this site has done the same, and this is all we can muster, we have no chance for a Ron Paul GOP ticket in 08.
God, for once I wish this Country could get someone worth a damn in office.

I had posted (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=141358&page=12#post1501904) earlier in this thread, indicating interest (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=141358&page=12#post1501904) in a simple
report of how each state voted. Well, here is a simple breakdown
of the signature data (http://sidster.org/freedom/lettertogop.com.analysis.html). It isn't so much of an analysis than a simple
report. Personally, I think this is somewhat interesting. It shows
how many people from which states, which party affiliation, and
likelihood of their November vote.

Here is a simple (text version) breakdown report per party basis.

Interesting data set - Thanks for posting and look forward to updates

Maybe I'm bored or something... but another interesting stat
is the number of signatures per state:

CA 1083 (12.5%) TX 692 (8.0%)
FL 501 (5.8%) PA 396 (4.6%)
WA 365 (4.2%) OH 365 (4.2%)
MI 295 (3.4%) NY 285 (3.3%)
AZ 256 (3.0%) GA 244 (2.8%)
CO 239 (2.8%) IL 232 (2.7%)
MN 230 (2.7%) NJ 229 (2.6%)
MO 208 (2.4%) NC 207 (2.4%)
VA 191 (2.2%) TN 186 (2.1%)
IN 176 (2.0%) WI 170 (2.0%)
UT 155 (1.8%) OR 150 (1.7%)
MT 137 (1.6%) NV 130 (1.5%)
OK 129 (1.5%) AL 106 (1.2%)
MD 97 (1.1%) LA 94 (1.1%)
IA 92 (1.1%) ID 91 (1.0%)
SC 90 (1.0%) KY 89 (1.0%)
MA 79 (0.9%) KS 77 (0.9%)
NM 70 (0.8%) CT 70 (0.8%)
NE 56 (0.6%) ME 50 (0.6%)
AR 50 (0.6%) NH 45 (0.5%)
MS 39 (0.4%) WV 32 (0.4%)
SD 29 (0.3%) RI 28 (0.3%)
WY 27 (0.3%) HI 27 (0.3%)
ND 25 (0.3%) AK 24 (0.3%)
VT 18 (0.2%) DC 9 (0.1%)
DE 8 (0.1%)

Not sure but it looks like the word isn't getting around to the
other states. By far CA, FL and TX dominate the signatures.

I'm wondering if that is consistent with the geographic distribution
of RPF members?

I'd be curious to find out how the site is being promoted and
primarily through which mediums? Obviously a good majority
of states aren't being represented it seems. Something the
site owners should focus on.
