View Full Version : I worry that our people are seeking office too soon

Perhaps in a year that has seen three special elections where Democrats have captured traditionally Republican seats, are we not wasting our time running people for office. If the Democrats win in a landslide then our candidates will likely suffer because of Bush even though we are the anti-neoconservatives.

I am still going to support Ron Paul Republicans as much as I can this year. However, I worry that we should not be surprised if none of our candidates win.

The good thing about a crushing GOP defeat is in two years the party would likely gain many of those seats back. This would be our opportunity for gains. I would also point out after Goldwater's loss which saw many Rockefeller Republicans lose their congressional seats, just two years later the Goldwater Republicans took them back.

The congressional campaigns should push grassroots programs like the precinct leader program Ron Paul's campaign created. That way when they fail, they are paving the way for next time.
