Things were a bit tenuous for a while there but most of the big parts are coming together fine. I dunno how many of you have done a job like this before, but it's really nice to start planning a year in advance. We had a few short months. And we're not even close to attaining our budget but if we don't raise $30k we'll just start scaling things back to where we can afford them.

Like take the $10k stage for instance. Don't it just bend the mind to imagine how a stage we're going to rent for one single day can possibly cost $10k? Well, apparently if you want a stage that's big enough to set up a band on, that's what it costs for the stage and the guys who set it up and break it down. And their call time, along with all the people who volunteered to set this scene up is 6:00 AM. They have 5 hours to get us all set up at the rally location. Better eat your Wheaties folks, we'll have a full day ahead of us.

But this ain't just a one-shot deal. Your donations and volunteering is helping put something together, like a resource for the movement. Read more in my next post which will be called "a march with legs".
