Regarding the state Republican Party convention being held in Rochester, two facts are particularly telling: party leaders have refused to allow Congressman Ron Paul the opportunity to speak to the delegates, yet they specially invited "GOP strategist" Karl Rove to address them.

Agree with him or not, no one would dispute that Paul holds scrupulous ethics and consistent principles. In contrast, Rove is the poster child of all that is wrong with politics today -- unethical, unscrupulous, and a cynical stop-at-nothing-to-win mentality. It speaks volumes about the party that it would snub Paul and honor Rove.

Yet more evidence of how far the once-proud and progressive Republican Party of Minnesota has fallen. Very sad.

I only caught the very end of it but Rove was on Sean Hannity last night talking about Obama and McClellan. Scary stuff.
