Last weeks list resulted in in 5 Adoptions!

There have been 84 adoptions from the past 8 lists!

This is now the 9th Adopt a Meetup list and we are noticing a very healthy trend in the number of Meetups at risk with each passing week. In sequence: 63, 68, 74, 74, 63, 55, 51, 53, 42. We are on the upswing and the movement is again gaining momentum!

With our chances to win the nomination starting to look fairly promicing, what with all the delegate wins we've had! It's worth another $72 to renew for another 6 months ? lest keep this movement ALIVE! For every one that drops out, we will loose, on average, 50 supporters. Every month, for the next six months roughly 250 Meetups will get that renewal notice. Some will renew - some will not. When a organizer fails to renew, Meetup sends out a notice to the remaining members offering them the position of organizer for 2 weeks, and if there are no bites - the Meetup goes away.

We need volunteer organizers to stem this tide. When an organizer gets a Meetup, you really get 3 for the price of one, and like the early seeder program, if you have less than 3, we would like you to adopt some of these Meetups that are going into oblivion - at least long enough to find a new organizer or direct members to other resources where they can stay in the loop till we find a more permanent solution.

You can now look up these Meetups on:
http://www.operationcatherder.com/index.php/State_by_State_Status to determine which Meetups are the most viable. That will tell you the number of members and the recent activity level. More members or more active means worth saving. Less active and less members, means join and try to contact and migrate supporters to a bigger group.

We need volunteers to join these Meetups and work them - explaining to the members that while we still have a chance at the nomination, other goals are just as important. Things like changing the party platform and rules, having a good delegate showing to establish viability of our message and gain media attention. The transformation of our campaign into a long term movement and electing our candidates to Congress and other positions (we have around 50 ppl running for office - it's not just about Dr. Paul).

While we will be looking at different projects and sites to send people to in the future, we suggest you send supporters to the 2 main web sites: http://www.RonPaulForums.com and http://www.DailyPaul.com Daily Paul as well as the per-state forums on Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo for now - as a stop gap measure. Two other good sites are http://www.ronpaullive.com Ron Paul Live and http://www.ronpaulpublic.com Ron Paul Public. That way we will know where to find them and direct them further when we are more organized. In addition, http://www.freedomfortress.net/ Freedom Fortress will let you mail to like minded supporters based on user adjustable distances from you. Many of these supporters are not connected to the movement beyond Meetup and we need people there to go to stay involved - even if you do not adopt their Meetup temporarily or permanently. Please focus on the Meetups with the most members or local to you first.

If you are a Meetup organizer, three of the 4 organizer groups, representing over 1/4 of the organizers have merged via a bridge. If you don't belong to ONE of these, please join! Just join one ? a post to one goes to all.

This group is not currently bridged with the other 3, and is very limited in functionality, but is another way for organizers to communicate. Messages must be read on-line – there is no mailing list for this one.

If you want to be an organizer and are willing to cover the fees, look for an expiring Meetup close to you, join it and accept the organizer position - then join the network.

Remember, one person that does not want to pay the fees can cut off on average 50 supporters - some of which will be into the movement for the long term.

These are the Meetups in danger of going away in the next 2 weeks that need adoption or at least someone to join and encourage supporters to migrate to another nearby Meetup:

I'm going to try to pickup the piedmont-triad group--for goodness sakes that's the meetup in Greensboro where we have our convention next weekend.....I have to drop a meetup to do it, I have one in the western part of the state with just a couple of members, I'm working with them to migrate to other meetups......
