By the looks of things we're gonna have a Dem president elected this year. It's a bad thing of course, but the good thing is it gives us 4 years to regroup and for Ron to pass the torch on to somebody else. Seems like if he gets to serve a term in Congress after this election he could be a good choice, I mean Obama's just a one-term senator, right? (correct me if I'm wrong)

SABRIN was born in Europe. So chances = 0

Not to mention all of his other foibles...

Your best chance rEVOLution candidate in 2012 is prob. Mark Sanford.

Obama was already nationally known and promoted before he even reached the Senate. I hope Sabrin wins, but I think a Senator normally has to be into their second term at least to be a serious presidential candidate.

A current or former governor would be even better, someone like Gary Johnson, Craig Benson, or Mark Sanford perhaps.

Shows that I didn't do my research. Thanks though. I guess we'll see how things play out

Pardon my ignorance, but what about Barry Goldwater Jr? he did endorse RP

Mark Sanford.

I'm not really digging some of his stances. He doesn't seem to be as liberty and constitution minded as RP

I like former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_E._Johnson). Of course I have no idea if he is interested in running.

I think Barry Jr. is retired from politics...

That said, his dad didn't want to run for President either, but answered the call of the "draft Goldwater" movement.

Sometimes you have to settle for close enough...

Besides, ontheissues.org isn't always accurate. It says that Ron Paul voted against gay adoptions, when he is on the record saying that he didn't vote against the adoptions, just against a federal subsidy of those adoptions.

Did he endorse McCain's policies, or suggest that he was better than Obama?

Barry Goldwater Sr. would've reluctantly, but not vocally, supported McCain as well. Both Goldwaters supported Nixon publicly (at least for a while, I think Barry Jr. eventually voted to impeach), while condemning him privately. They fight for their party, even when they don't fully agree.

Anyway. Barry Jr. is a good guy. I don't think he would go back into politics though. His dad didn't want to run for president, and did so only because of a "draft Goldwater" movement -- I think it would take a similarly large-scale movement to bring his son back into politics.
