it would probably do well in the general election, but it would kill the revolution. clinton has the women voters that paul lacks, and paul has the internet money clinton needs. both are being pushed out of their parties by the neocons and the Progressives. clinton knows this is her last chance for president, because if obama wins she won't be able to run again. and if obama loses, he'll run again in 2012 and win the primaries again with his strength in fundraising and in the solid south and caucus states. paul would never agree to it unless clinton promises to pull out of iraq on day 1 and cut enough spending to balance the budget.
