The Resolutions Ballot was drafted and adopted by the State Resolutions Committee based on Resolutions adopted by various County Assemblies. The Resolutions are an expression of grassroots democracy. They have not been endorsed by the Colorado Republican Party as that decision rests with you the delegates to the Assembly. You should read the Resolutions carefully before voting.

1. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans fully support the United States in winning the war on terrorism and furthermore support the brave men and women of our Armed Forces in defense of the United States.

2. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans re-affirm adherence to the principal that the United States will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, and oppose any foe, to assure the survival of our republic and freedom.

3. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support a balanced federal budget.

4. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that the practice of inserting earmarks into the federal budget be eliminated.

5. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support granting the President of the United States line item veto authority over the federal budget.

6. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support making the Bush tax cuts permanent.

7. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support the elimination of federal and state death taxes.

8. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that Social Security benefits not be taxed.

9. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose any attempt to repeal or modify the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR)

10. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose the 2007 action of the Colorado General Assembly freezing mill levy rates thereby raising property taxes and accordingly call for a referendum on this question as required by TABOR.

11. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that our national borders be immediately secured.

12. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

13. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that birthright citizenship not be granted to any person when neither parent is a citizen.

14. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that a well-regulated guest worker program is important to Colorado agriculture and industry.

15. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose the concept of sanctuary cities and support legislation that would prohibit public funding to any locality that refuses to cooperate with the enforcement of immigration laws, rules, and regulations.

16. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.

17. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that any illegal immigrant who has been convicted of any criminal offense be deported immediately upon completion of any term of incarceration.

18. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support the 2nd Amendment right of individuals to keep and bear arms.

19. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that life begins at conception.

20. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support overturning Roe v. Wade.

21. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that pregnancy, abortion and birth control are personal private matters not subject to government regulation or interference.

22. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose the use of public funds for destructive embryonic stem-cell research.

23. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that “marriage” is the union of one man and one woman.

24. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support comprehensive local, state, and federal policies to expeditiously develop all energy resources available to the United States in order to end our dependency on foreign energy sources.

25. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support prudent, science-based environmental policies and oppose climate change hysteria.

26. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose levying special, punitive taxes in an effort to reduce energy consumption.

27. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support increased funding for the expeditious construction and expansion of water storage projects.

28. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that Colorado should prohibit all state and local government payroll systems from deducting membership dues and political contributions.

29. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that no person be required, as a condition of employment, to be a member of a labor union or to pay any dues, fees, or assessments to a labor union.

30. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that the primary right of parents to direct the education of their children, including home-schooling, be protected.

31. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support the right to public and private school choice programs including charter schools, vouchers and tuition tax credits.

32. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that Colorado citizens be free to choose their own health care and health insurance and not be required to participate in any particular health care program.

33. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose all single-payor health care systems.

34. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans to support, defend, and enforce the literal meaning and original intent of the United States Constitution.

35. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose governmental taking of private property for the benefit of private individual, private entities, or for governmental revenue enhancement.

36. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support mandatory proof-of-citizenship when any person registers to vote in Colorado.

37. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support a requirement that every person must present a United States, state, or local government-issued photo identification card before being allowed to vote.

38. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans affirm that the English language be the only official language of the United States and that English be the only official language used for all public acts, orders, records, and official proceedings of all branches of state, local and federal government.

39. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support retaining the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

40. The Honorable Wayne Allard, Colorado’s Senior United States Senator, will retire at the end of this Congress. Senator Allard has been a faithful defender of the ideals and values of the Republican Party and has worked, with his wife Joan at his side, to support its candidates and advance its goals. In recognition of his service, it is resolved that Colorado Republicans extend heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Senator Wayne Allard for his many years of outstanding service to the Republican Party, the People of Colorado, and the United States of America.
