So it seems to me like Ron Paul's big stance on healthcare is to scrap the insurance/HMO system as it is by clearing the way for real alternatives, and to allow people to claim their expenses against their tax debt (is this interp. correct?)
I think that's exactly the fix we need but....

the question (to those leaning socially liberal) then becomes... what difference will this make to those getting a full refund already?

what can be done legislatively to encourage competition in the health insurance/non-profit health provision institutions?

I found Ron Paul because he offered a bill to protect supplements and herbs from being classified as drugs.

You guys may want to check out the alternative health world. Mainstream medicine is just as bad as Mainstream media. Probably worse.

I have a Question about:

9. H.R.194 : To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 with respect to the purchase of prescription drugs by individuals who have attained retirement age, and to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to the importation of prescription drugs and the sale of such drugs through Internet sites.
Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 1/4/2007) Cosponsors (None)
Committees: House Energy and Commerce; House Ways and Means
Latest Major Action: 2/2/2007 Referred to House subcommittee. Status: Referred to the Subcommittee on Health.

isn't it against the law to discriminate based on age?

Have you read the text? (I haven't.) It may be reversing such a descrimination, or a socialized medicine issue.
