Politicians who talk a good game but do the opposite?
I liked Reagan, but he didn't walk the walk ultimately. W is another example. He talked about no nation building or policing of the world as RP constantly reminds us, yet he did the exact opposite.
And we had Republicans defending him every step of the way. Could it be that the party likes to "own" those ideas while doing nothing about them? Is that why they are so scared of someone like Ron Paul?
I remember Rush Limbaugh accusing the left of something similar with the issues they espoused - like poverty, environment - and so on and so forth - accusing them of wanting to own the issues while doing nothing about them because once something is done about it - they can't "own" them anymore - or the problem won't be as apparently pressing anymore come election time (what Pelosi is doing with Iraq right now apparently).
Maybe it's something I will call Rush, Hannity, or Levin about tomorrow and press for an answer. After all, it was under a Republican watch that the Federal Government ballooned 66% since 2000. And you'll never find an election where the Republican don't bandy about smaller government.
