Politicians who talk a good game but do the opposite?

I liked Reagan, but he didn't walk the walk ultimately. W is another example. He talked about no nation building or policing of the world as RP constantly reminds us, yet he did the exact opposite.

And we had Republicans defending him every step of the way. Could it be that the party likes to "own" those ideas while doing nothing about them? Is that why they are so scared of someone like Ron Paul?

I remember Rush Limbaugh accusing the left of something similar with the issues they espoused - like poverty, environment - and so on and so forth - accusing them of wanting to own the issues while doing nothing about them because once something is done about it - they can't "own" them anymore - or the problem won't be as apparently pressing anymore come election time (what Pelosi is doing with Iraq right now apparently).

Maybe it's something I will call Rush, Hannity, or Levin about tomorrow and press for an answer. After all, it was under a Republican watch that the Federal Government ballooned 66% since 2000. And you'll never find an election where the Republican don't bandy about smaller government.

I think that almost all politicians do this .. from local all the way up. Certainly not all but those like Ron Paul really have a hard time making any progress with or against such people.

At least many of the congress when pressed admits great respect for him.

They are like a bunch of kids - once Ron is elected and it will suddenly be cool to be logical, constitutional and listen to the people again. There will still be those bad apples that the founders knew would find their way into government but with the rule of law they will effect little damage.

This is my hope anyway.

The Bush family and Clinton family and many many other prominent figures in U.S politics and special interests/corporations are in the Council on Foreign Relations.

CFR promotes world government which is a far cry from small government. CFR promotes American intervention, and nation building. It's no secret, you can find all this info on their website if you do some digging through their writings.
