I'm an alternate to the Minnesota State Convention next week and today I had someone from the GOP call my house four times today. I only answered it on the last call since it kept coming up as "UNKNOWN NAME" 218-000-0000 on my caller id.

The caller said they were from the "Republican Party" and wouldn't identify what state they were from or who they were. Immediately after I said hello they start asking whether we should finish the job in Iraq. I didn't answer anything and hung up.

Is this a typical strategy for the McCain campaign or GOP insiders to use to identify Ron Paul supporters? Anyone else receive these, especially in Minnesota?

Ever since I joined the party back in November, we get constant calls from the GOP asking for money. At first I thought it was kinda cute, and would ream them on how they treated Ron Paul, and all the problems the GOP has caused in cahoots with Bush. Now we look at the caller ID and just don't answer.

Never received a call from the GOP and now they called 5 times in last day and a half. Can phone companies trace the source of a number for you even if your caller id says Unknown Name? Seems illegal people can anonymously call.

+10. .. . the GOP is no longer a viable party imho. Having to resort to canceling a state convention and having to call people like this are just some of the indicators I'm seeing of a party that is imploding.

This has happened in Maine and Nevada already. THESE ARE MCCAIN SUPPORTERS TRYING TO FIND OUT IF YOU SUPPORT RON PAUL. There were three questions earlier. Answer them ALL as if you were a neocon, or they will keep you out of their camp at the convention or maybe even keep you out of the convention altogether. When is your convention?

Please call me I have advice for you at your convention. 617 378 5431.

Texas GOP headhunt - Telesurvey - BEWARE

I just received a call around 8 PM from phone number 866-852-2508

As soon as you say "hello" A recorded message comes on.
"Hello, as you being a Delegate or Alternate to the Texas Republican Party State Convention, we would like you ask your opinion on a few things."

#1
Do you Support a Constitutional Amendment to Protect Marriage between one man & one woman?

#2
Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to Ban Abortion?

#3
Do you support a preemptive strike on IRAN to protect Israel?
(the word "Nuclear" might have been in there, I don't remember.)

#4
Will you support John McCain as the Republican Party Nominee?

All of these questions required you to press
1 for "yes"
2 for "no"
3 for "Undecided"

I pressed 1 "Yes" to all of them except for the preemptive strike on Iran.

It is my opinion that the Texas GOP is using this survey to flush out all Ron Paul supporters and challenge them at a Credentials committee before the convention.

If you press 2 "no" to any of the above, you will probably be challenged.
I knew what they were trying to do when I got the call, thus I told them what they wanted to hear.
But I refused to compromise on the Preemptive strike on Iran, Thats the shit Hitler did.

Please get the word out

Yours in the Revolution,
V

Washington:
Do you support the "surge"?
Do you support the Patriot Act?
Who did you vote for in the Primary?

"paid for by McWar" at the end.

Apparently they got the list of delegates from the Washington State Republican Party - though from what i understand this information was not provided to the Paul campaign.

Spineless bastards!

I've gotten some calls too from an 866 number lately, but I just hang up if nobody answers me within a few seconds of saying "Hello?". I just figured it was a robodialer/telemarketer.

Answer the phone, tell them that you state has stalking laws and that you've called the police. (It doesn't matter if it's true or not.)

If Paul delegates weren't considered to be a credible threat to the McCain campaign, would they even be undertaking this kind of operation?

I mean, McCain's got the nomination "locked up", right? Why would they be worried about Paul delegates, to the point of flushing them out via phone surveys?

Lie out your asses.

Correct. Would you LIE to Satan, to help God?

Errr yess you fken would. Lie to them so much, they'd consider making you a Super Delegate even though the GOP doesn't have them.

It's really not about Paul supporters per se. They just don't want ANY opposition to an unpopular nominee. It could cause potential embarrassment to the party, and they are willing to potentially slit their own throats to save the embarrassment in Minnesota if it gets to a roll call vote, and McCain barely scrapes by with 1196 delegates.

They aren't afraid of Ron Paul becoming the nominee, they are afraid of a brokered convention, and "Mickey Mouse" being nominated from the floor.

How are people still surprised by this? As far as I'm concerned, I would have expected even worse treatment, ie physical threats or altercations.

They're afraid there'll be enough people there to BOO at McCain during the speech that they can't tazer them and rush them out the door quickly enough.

They're afraid there might be enough anti-McCain delegates there that will do something like clap loudly at the wrong times to fluster McCain.. wear "McCain sucks" under shirts and pull off their coat/shirt just as the camera pans the audience.. or some other non-violent protest that will cause a disturbance..

They're afraid the media will be able to interview national convention delegates who don't support McCain (and I think the media will use this to get Obama elected...).
