Libraries are socialist institutions.

... but it's a good idea nonetheless. ;)

The thread starter didn't restrict this to public libraries.

technically, so are roads. Some of these things could be privatized, but it dont see it as some supreme evil in its current form - they certainly provide a pretty much equally accesible benefit to anyone who wants to use em. Plus, its local money that goes into them for the most part (except in cases of earmarks), so its really one of the most benign uses of tax dollars possible.

and trust me, im a radical individualist, so utility to the community isn't exactly something i lavish with praise. but that doesnt mean there aren't real-world tradeoffs, and some benefits, to certain public institutions.

Great idea here, though.

Are we still hung up on this NH fallacy? Because of some State jingo?

Seems to me Nevada, Montana, Louisiana, Alaska, Maine, Oregon, Pennsylvania,... even Iowa faired better than NH.

This book is a masterpiece. I can't imagine anyone not being swayed by it. Put a copy in every library willing to shelve it. Especially the high traffic urban centers like NY, LA, etc... and drop this unfounded obsession with NH.

Great! Hop to it and update us on your progress. New Hampshire activists, as usual, are out in front.

New Hampshire rocks when it comes to local activists taking actions
and making changes! Just because the vote wasn't there (when 8
candidates were in the race and we have huge numbers of elderly
and Massachusetts tax lovers up here) doesn't mean shit.

I don't know where you get your information BarneyFife but your
way off base. I won't call you a troll but if the bridge fits...

Heres an even wilder idea... free book to every library in the country. We will do it state by state!

I would like to see celebrities say they are reading the book. Imagine... Oprah's Bookclub. LOL

Its all Tom Cruise's fault for shocking her into the dark side.
