View Full Version : Poll: Should Take Action be a single forum instead of 8?

Currently the Take Action section is divided into 8 separate forums with little or no traffic. I think that it would be more productive to have all Action Items within a single forum. If you agree vote Yes, if you like it the way it is vote No, if you have a different suggestion, write it down.

I agree that probably would make a lot of sense, since i rarely check that section because its so spread out.

Yes, it is silly to have 8 separate forums. Many projects overlap into multiple categories anyways.

Poor threads will bury themselves. No moderation except for the trolls. Have at most 5 forum topics.

I would never take the time to look at 8 different forums looking for something that might be in one forum based on one persons opinoin of where it should be, and another for someone elses opinoin

Dont fix something thats not broken I say.

No, it was more likely that he said in another thread:

I suggest that everyone leave so they see how they fucked up.

YOUR WISH IS THEIR COMMAND! ;)

Actually he asked for his account to be removed. I gave him a 1 day temp ban.

He's welcome to come back tomorrow. Nothing has changed really, no orders to change moderation were put out. FooFighter moved a few more threads than normal to make a point.

I do not wish to be part of your new socialist concepts please delete my membership immediately.

I am very relieved to hear that.

I was afraid this was going to be a permanent condition.

As I posted elsewhere, many of these sub-forums were added at the request of a third party organizer that have never really been used- I've wanted them gone for weeks. Some of them however (like Campaign Material) are more of a information repository rather than open discussions and they have value for that so anyone can find collections of useful information without searching.

Beyond any repository style sub-forums, I think one is fine.

The current membership will likely rather see EVERYTHING in one forum. But for this forum to grow, new members need to find things easily - category by category - not having to search through 100 pages of topics in one section for anything and everything they need.

Separate categories and forums will draw more members over time than one big forum with everything under the sun stuck in it. Think of the future of the forum. Think outside the box...

But why does no one ever think inside the box?

Because thinking inside the box is having all the posts in one forum.

And you let hm power trip all over everybody he aggravates with sarcasm and shuffling their threads and gloating. Shame on you!~ I am really reaaly close to just giving up. I have a real life to attend to and this is really cuting into my natural comfort zone. I should not have to put up with this behavior from inside the Paul camp when i am busting my ass and putting my good local reputation on the line. Thank heavens i dd not send mastodon to these forums to get the final step of commitiment from them. I would be the laughing stock of Little five Points and the word would have spread rapidly that the Paul campaign is loaded with old time republicans using the old time tactics so there would be no point in wasting your vote.

Josh.. You made a place for the people to come together. We came and built the place into a huge comunity. Now you have a big community you turned around and got the control freak running the forums and issuing sarcstic statements to posters and taunting them with his powers. I do not see my well crafted reply to the warning anywhere. I spent 90 minutes on that reply and included cogent quote after every comment I made from three of The Founding Fathers.. But jeesh.. I may have spoken the truth about control freaks and the damage they do. Foo is a shit disturnber and the worst move made on this forum was to pretend it needed a pit bull to patrol it. This cat got a fist full of hooked claws for pit pull. I never could stand that breed except for one lone dog I met this summer who was quite amusingly sociable and would fetch big logs if you threw them.
