View Full Version : Strategy: Call all Wal-Marts, B&N, Borders, etc... AND ask...

Had a great idea which I just started to do.

Anyone can do it. Even if you already have your copy of 'A Manifesto'.

I just called Wal-Mart and asked...

"Do you have any more The Revolution; A Manifesto by Ron Paul?"
After trying to connect me with 'stationary' he said, "Let me go check. What's that title again?"
"The Revolution; A Manifesto by Presidential Candidate Ron Paul... It's a #1 Best Seller!"

As expected, there weren't any in stock. So I asked who handles all the book stocking (found out yesterday that Wal-Mart has an outside contractor stock their books). He didn't remember her name but said that he'd be seeing her and would mention it.

I thanked him and that was it.

And we can do this at EVERY big name store!
And we can do this EVERY day.

The benefits are:

1) I'll eventually get my book
2) It's increasing Wal-Marts awareness
3) It's increasing demand
4) It will also help get a more prominent placing on the shelves.
5) which will increase sells

Hunter

p.s. Go right now and spend 2 minutes making a couple calls!

p.p.s. EDIT: and tell them that you want 5 copies just for yourself!

I called B&N in Eagan, and Sam's Club! Both said they would look into it.

Geez, don't be helping Walmart get more business. You should've done that with Target or Kmart instead.

Asking people to actually do something?
What do you think this is, some kind of Ron Paul forum?

This is a good idea. How can we keep it on the best seller list if they do not carry it? It has already fallen to #7.

Both Wal-Marts were out in Hudson and Nashua, N.H.

Barnes & Noble has several, their holding 5 for me!!! :D

Let's keep calling and keep this bumped.

p.s. Wal-Mart may not be the best, but they're not evil.
We can still call K-Mart and Target too!

It is not that no one sees strategy...it is just that most people have common sense and know that your idea is pointless, and every one of the "benefits" you list is not going to happen from your idea. You REALLY need to get his notion out of your head that everyone who doesn't agree with you is wrong. The fact of the matter is, I don't think you have had a single good idea in your entire life. If you have, you certainly haven't shared it with anyone here.

Just to let you know...after he got off the phone with you, the Walmart employee forgot all about you. But by all means, if you truly have nothing else to do with your time, then go ahead and waste it.

OK, Mr. 30 posts.

Apparently you haven't been around or you'd have
seen some of my sweet ideas.

It's obvious that you're a saboteur.

Damn. Calling any book seller and requesting copies can do nothing but help. I stopped in at my local Hastings again today and requested more copies.

Just called the two Wal-Marts again.

I could tell that the first guy liked and respected Dr. Paul
and the second one didn't know much about him.

This time I waited until tonight to call.

The first: No one picked up in 'stationary' so I was connected
with the manager. She explained that they have no inventory
of the books and that it's all outsourced (which I knew). And
that books are stocked on Monday and that new orders are
put in (by the vendor) on Tuesday.

I asked her if she could make sure that it got ordered and she
said that she'd let the vendor know to order several copies! :)

The second WalMart: Somehow I got connected with 'Jewelry'
and the lady said she couldn't find the book. I asked if there
was a manager on duty. To which she replied, "No!" :o

So I hung up and called right back. And got the manager on the
phone within 30 seconds. :) The department manager is only in
during the day (Laura) and she is the one who speaks directly to
the vendor.

I'll be calling one more time tomorrow to this last store.

Books should be in all store this time next week! :)
