The meetups that are hosting the Freedom Tour need some posters for promotion.

Watch the promo video for inspiration and let me know if you're up to the task.

Sounds good...

Marc's MySpace has lots of Pics... Also, put Ron Paul's face on it, but NOT his name. We want to fill the place with non-Ron Paul people and we'll be playing a video of Ron Paul, so we can't mention his name as it may deter some, but the RP people will recognize his face :) Sneaky...

How many posters?

How big?

I assume you want color and glossy stock - yes? B&W and normal stock is MUCH less expensive.

How much do you want to spend?

Basically, up to 8 1/2" x 14 - fairly reasonable...

A bit larger - harder finding the person with the right printer or go silk screen.

Movie poster size and a short run, you need a wide format printer and it won't be cheap.

You want a ton of them - Web press. By ton, I mean 50,000 min and they can get fairly cheap ea.

i use 20inch x 30inch for promos at work. my printer company can do up to 48 inches (maybe 60). they print for me near cost cause my old boss works there.

sounds like a match!

but what kind of pricing?

Remember making the plate and setup is a large up front cost, and after that it's per copy till you need a new plate.

If you need enough to make it worthwhile to go this route, sounds like this is going to be your best bet!

I own a print company I can do it at cost,
20K 24"x36" $4600 plus fright out of L.A.
20K 18"x24" $2000 plus frieght

These are full color on 100# gloss text with UV coating... this stuff is top quality, you won't find any better.

All I need is a pdf.

Even Multilith or AB Dick the break even point between xerox and offset was 500-1,000 copies. But yeah, large presses like a Heidlerberg cost a lot more. Color cost a lot more too - 4 plates, 4 runs or one run via web in series, but tons of setup...

Oh, we were not thinking of getting them printed, just designed, because we want to be able to change the date and location on each one ourselves and then the meetups can print them themselves.

That means B&W and no bigger than 8 1/2 x 14 or it's not going to happen. If you want color and big, you can do that and write in or rubber stamp date and place.

I'll work on something and see what you think. I agree with tangent though so my original idea wont really work on an office printer
