Since the audio quality is bad, I wanted to call in just to be ABLE TO HEAR THE CONFERENCE.

Someone confirmed that by calling in, I should only be able to hear it. That's great. But people started saying "EVERYONE MUTE YOUR PHONE" and that's where I am confused at. I thought they couldn't hear me anyway since I was only "hearing" in on the conference.

That's all I was asking. And your comment about 'stfu', how about you piss off of ronpaulforums.com with that language. Losers who pretend 'they know it all' with out reading.

Everyone joins the call MUTED. The issue was actually caused by Fred :)

The moderator had the capability to mute everyone, but I guess she chose not to. Weird. But yes, to be safe, you should hit *2. It's a pretty universal command for muting yourself.
