Got skills? - The Freedom Movement needs you!

Please volunteer for a skill pool or list yourself individually. There is still much to be done and we don't want to lose you as we transform into a long term movement. Ron Paul projects are still active, our candidates running for Congress need help and most importantly, we want to hit the ground running come 2010 and roll out a huge movement!

If you have skills to offer, please take the following survey. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=qsFp4BWPX9nCw1rUf9Gcxg_3d_3d

Actually, for the stuff they're asking for, much has to be payed for, otherwise it counts as a contribution from the person doing it.

I like this idea but there is lots of information that is requested. The requested information could easily be pillaged in order to extract the names of Ron Paul delegates.

What sort of assurances do we have that this site is legit and that the info won't be used for ulterior purposes?

i wonder how the f.e.c. would assess the value of the contribution (in terms of dollars). seems like that could get pretty sticky for the regulators.

This is part of Operation Cat Herder.

At the moment we are matching people with congressional candidate needs, but will also use the skill bank for other Ron Paul projects, freedom projects that support and further Dr. Paul's agenda and for working on Operation Cat Herder projects.

If working for a political campaign you are a volunteer and if the contribution has significant worth, it is an in kind contribution. You will have to work out the details with the campaign you help. We are acting as a matching service here.

Needs will either be sent to a mailing list of people with that particular skill, or contact info for those with a particular skill will be sent to to the person with the need, depending on the skill. We don't Release the whole list of skills/contacts ever.

Most importantly, we want contacts for people that can be called up for the 2010 and 2012 election cycles so we can hit the ground running with a full support structure on day one!

I'll work for free and they can bite me.

Seriously, I'm a writer and would gladly help craft anything needed. What I won't do is take a survey and be fed into a data base.

Some days I wish we were that "high tech". These are all manual cut and paste operations onto a number of documents.... The matching and e-mailing is manual too - OK - we might use "find"...

You could start at the pinned discussion at the top of this forum:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=132910

Operation Cat Herder is a catch all project with many sub-projects. It's primary aim is to get us better networked so we can roll out in mass for the 2010 and 2012 election cycles.

Imagine how different this campaign would have been if come January 1st, 2007, we rolled out a grassroots network with our current size, resources and supply chain...

To do that we need to retain, map, and network what we have now. As a side benefit, we are helping current state primaries, congressional campaigns (19 of them so far), and freedom projects.

Some aspects are writing a grassroots field manual, by the grassroots, for the grassroots.

Establishing a Skill bank and matching skills and resources to needs.

A grassroots classifieds service.

Organizing a National Grassroots Convention

and some other things - the list of things under the umbrella keeps growing.

I didn't answer your question with a question! I simply asked you a question
about what the pattern is that you see. I think you can do your own
research and Tangent has answered your question.

You're too funny.

Still no reassurances?

I signed up,look if the nazi's(neo-con republicans) are after you ,there gonna get you,so no worries here, hell you already gave all your info as a voter to the nazi party(neo-con republicans) so it really doesn't matter, the worst corrupt people in the gop already have your info you gave it to them;) no need for paranoia you were screwed the minute you got your ss number;) no hiding already.

Still no reassurances?

Well, as SpecialtyBlend noted, your voter registration data is public information. I'd add that if you have ever donated to Dr. Paul, your information goes on publicly accessible web sites. I know the neo-nazi's have used this latter data to send recruitment information to Ron Paul supporters due to an anomaly in the address data.

If you're a Meetup organizer, we already have about half of your e-mail addresses and very rarely send out notices. Once every month or two.

You might notice that we run the Adopt a Meetup project, and with a little research might discover that I run 3 organizer groups, co-own 43 of the yahoo state groups and a bunch of other infrastructure, and have been working on this campaign full time since January '07, along with other stuff.

You might also bother to visit the site, and with a little looking around see that we're putting in a bit too much effort to be collecting addresses in order to send you nigerian scams or viagra ads... :) We are also helping various projects and congressional campaigns - again evident if you bothered to take the time to look.

What kind of "assurances" do you want?

Would there be anything to check if I am good at writing content (position statements, speeches, etc.)?

Also, I am not necessarily politically savvy enough to be a campaign manager yet, but I could serve in an advisory form of some variety. I am watching my local campaign (the one in my sig) make fundamental mistake after fundamental mistake and while I don't believe I could take the reins of a Congressional campaign (maybe a small state or local campaign) I certainly could tell them what they are doing wrong without just being an average Joe in the audience.

writing is certainly in there - be more specific in the comments

amateur commentary may not be that welcome...

as to DJ - yeah, that's a skill! - so is your radio experience.

Thanks people - the reply has been good!

We still have some categories that have no volunteers, and could use more people in every category.

About 2/3rds of the submissions are online now. The rest should be up soon. We are matching volunteers with skills to the 19 congressional campaigns we are working with and the Revolution March first, but will match people for any Ron Paul project. If you need people (or want to volunteer) - take a look at:

http://operationcatherder.com/index.php/Skills_Bank

We'll be launching the Grassroots Classifieds surveys soon that will allow people to post wanted/needed ads as well as respond to them. These are more broad than the skills bank and deal with resources, materials and so on. There are already quite a few listings online:

http://operationcatherder.com/index.php/Grassroots_Classifieds

Thanks to everyone that has participated and is making this project a success!
