You don't have to join the groups, nor do you have to go through meetup (exactly) to contact them. All you need is their meetup number and you can contact any group you want through regular email.

For instance - if you want to contact Spokane you use the email address ronpaul-149@meetup.com

Emails go out to the whole group.

I am sending this email to as many groups as possible:

Hi there folks, you seem pretty active and involved and that is one of the reasons I am emailing you all. Recently, a group of us from the Northeast took it upon ourselves to go to Ozzfest and meet and greet with the concert goers. We had special fliers produced and we talked to about 4000 people. Here's the video:

As you can see, we had a great time and that leads me to the point of this email.

As you are aware, we are running out of time to get Ron Pauls name out to the public. Most people have still never heard of him. That HAS to change. To that end, I have created a set of pledges designed to get people out and about and discussing Ron Paul with the public. Please, look them over and sign up to do a few. Our current schedule calls for attending a Red Sox game and distributing campaign literature prior to the game. We are also going to attend a Patriots home game, a BC Eagles game and hopefully, much more. Here are the pledges. I hope you all can help!

Actually, your email has to be on the list in order to send to people on the list. I tried this and it didn't work for me.

Really? It seems to work. I don't get an error back.

So I have to sign up for all those groups?
Done.

There's that "three emails per day" limit, too. I hate that!

Do you think they could make it any more difficult?
Time to contact meetup.

I think they did it to prevent spam in the meetups.
