Mr. Jones,

Interestingly, this article fails to mention Congressman Ron Paul. Is this intentional or simply a lack of knowledge on the subject? Giving the benefit of the doubt, I would like to inform you that Dr. Paul's libertarian philosophy is most congruous with the "Live Free or Die" state. In fact, this was demonstrated when he dominated the most recent straw poll in Stafford County, NH. Of 286 votes cast, Paul received 208, good for 73%. (http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/014783.html)
Now, I perfectly understand the confusion the mainstream media is experiencing over the Ron Paul phenomena. He did decently at Iowa, earning just over 9%. Of course, some major competitors were absent. But since then, he has came in a close third in Illinois' straw poll (~18% to Romney's ~40% and Thompson's ~19%), and has won a vast majority in two others (NH and Alabama, where he earned >80%). Still, the media is at a loss because he is trailing in scientific polls.
You're obviously thinking about it. You're obviously wondering "who is this guy, who are his supporters, and why the disconnect?" And yet you fail to act. Ron Paul is a real person, and he has a grassroots campaign that is vastly superior to that of all the other candidates, on both sides. It's about time you do your job and report these facts, and leave the fantasy to those who hope Ron Paul really is just a fad. Because those guys are about to go out of style.
