1887 Meetup first conference call notes

We first spoke with Deborah Robinet of The Revolution March Foundation.
She informed us of the Travel and Lodging committee that they have put together for the march.
There are some contacts that we can reach to find out more about the actual convoy routes (Ronvoy).
There will be a new site up soon for the Ronvoy. Ronvoy.com
It also appears that they are trying to work with Best Westerns in the area for lodging.
Deborah also informed us that workshops the day before the march were announced on the Ron Paul Forum today.

We talked about promoting our convention through the Ron Paul March website.

We also spoke with a few people from Revolutionbroadcasting.com.
We went over some of the details of webcasting our events. They have a few people staying for a few days after the march
to help us with that.
They did give us a little air-time after the call. We may be able to get some more promotion from them.

We talked about the pros and cons of different venues and have put together a basis schedule of events.
With state schools as an option we will be looking for contacts within the schools to find sponsorship.

We spoke about catering, speakers, workshops and seminars, power, A/V, chairs etc.

We are planning for several conference calls in the coming week.

Bonfire? Um... you should (or whoever is making decisions on that) be really, really careful with that aspect of things. Many campsites don't much appreciate bonfires, except some of the ones further away from DC. This sounds like it's a week-long event now? This is longer than expressed on the website... it only shows events scheduled through Sat, but now they go through to Monday?

Also the Best Western in New Carrollton (sp) was very gracious when we had to stay there... it's not the greatest place in the world, but it'll do in a pinch and is near some grocery stores and a Metro station. Just lock your car at night and don't leave valuables out.

I don't expect a bonfire would happen unless we went the private land and tents option.

Flks from the March were saying yesterday that they are looking at starting Wednesday for wed/thurs training, friday lobbying, march on sat, the convention happening on sat is a 95% probability of being a go, as things are looking very good and a monday ronstock type event on saturday is a 50% chance of happening. not looking at it too hard till we have someplace firm for the convention and that is a bit further along.

but, yeah - it's looking like a weeks worth of activities.

We've got 3 people tentatively scheduled to do workshops / seminars so far and Dr. Pauls office is considering our request to have him speak and do a book signing at the Convention.
