Rhys

But I don't know how....

I want to make it easy for people to have access to the Ron Paul media (blogs and friendlies.) to get their info out. Like an AP for Ron Paul.

Any takers?

you could just grab all the rss feeds out there.

more like generate an RSS feed with people's important releases

and if you don't know, there dozens of free press release services...

There's also paid distribution which I tried to start several months
ago and promoted a chipin for but most people here didn't see the
value and just kept saying "but there's free services..."

We could have and still could do mass press release distribution
(paid not free) that would wake up millions of people.

Check out www.marketwire.com if you are interested.

Hunter

p.s. Let me know if you'd like more info.

I have an account with marketwire.com

distribution is 60,000+ newsfeeds, newsletters, journalists,
papers, magazines, etc... AND all of the MSM. (We know that
how the MSM will respond but we don't need them anyways. :)

a single distribution of a 500 word release is $350 if I recall.

FREE!

And a wicked awesome strategy that I was promoting
was to make the release about an issue with ALL the
candidates stances (not just Dr. Paul's).

By doing so, the release will get picked up by thousands
of more media and will attract supporters of ALL the
candidates.

And as we know, the Good Dr. will shine, shine, shine!!!!

Hunter

To make it just about Dr. Paul is like preaching to the choir.
We want to enlighten other's and counter the MSM negative
programming so that we can bring other candidate's supports
to us... especially since Hillary has dropped out now.

lololol

Again, free distribution sucks... even prwebs paid
distribution sucks.

how do we bundle to bring the cost down? one release a week. the Friday Ron Paul Bundle? and individual releases on demand

A Ron Paul Rebel

I asked my rep that same question to which he said that
'first we try then we trust'. That's not a direct quote but
I think you get my meaning.

if we build it, they will come.

A Ron Paul Rebel
05-11-2008, 12:08 PM
I can ask him something like... "If we pay you upfront
for 4 press release distributions (1 month at a time)
how much of a discount can we get?"

They might drop it $1,000 ($250 each).

I don't know but I imagine that we can get creative.

i can make a site where any registered user can submit an article, link or video. then one of us can publish it or not. if it's high quality, we will publish it. it can have a pay section, where we sell one portion of a release... so many words for so much money. One release, 3-4 summaries with URL. Our site will provide hosting for the press releases, and we can submit full releases to the paid service for the full price, or include it in our "bundle service which has a lead time of up to 7 days out." right?

EDIT:::

also build a database of paul friendly blogs and MSM (again, if they existed)

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sell one portion of a release'.
Or what you mean by 'one release, 3-4 summaries with URL'
Not sure what you mean by 'bundling' either.

I think what was meant by the bundle was if it happens to be outsource OR done in house, if there are multiple services offered they might need to be bundled since they come from separate sites.

and kinda like this:

PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ron Paul Grassroots Weekly Press Alert

Marc Scibilia Launches 29 City Freedom Tour for Ron Paul
Freedom Tour 08

blah blah blah
Visit their website url for more

Ron Paul Rocket to send Space Satellite for broadcasting NYT Bestseller
same stuf blah blah

rinse repeat until one full press release is filled.

that's one possible purchase option. It will go out depending on how fast it fills.

number two is to send multiple releases at once for a bargain.

three is to send a full release out to be paid at market price.

We always say we need more press. This is one way of doing it... distribution that's not controlled by MSM.

yes, and I think that's a great idea. We can fund it by charging a slight markup. My main goal is to provide an outlet for grassroots news to reach the press and blogs, so we can control the story... and provide it.

i'm a little tiered of waiting for the media to come to us, and not having any way, at all, for projects to get word to the media.

for instance, the freedom tour could use an affordable way to get word out. written correctly, it's possible for their volunteer search to become news. example headline:

++
Pualites Hit the Road With 29 City Summer Freedom Music Tour

blah blah blah

spokesman added, "and there's still a few spots to fill if people find a road tour exciting, and want to help out."

Utilize what the NeoCons use:

http://www.apbroadcast.com/AP+Broadcast/Television/Elections/default.htm

We could do a chip-in and get this info mainstream!

but the AP is MSM ie" bought and controlled
some might run it but most won't... IMO

Are you looking to set something up where people come to you or you go to the people?

we can do a "sponsor a press release" for people have money but no release. they can maybe even chose one to pay for.

not for press releases per se, but a lot do show up.. it's basically an aggregator for many news and blog feeds out there: Independent Torch (http://independenttorch.com)

that's like what I want, only opposite direction. I'm looking to feed info to those blogs, not away from.

not exactly what I had in mind...

Yes, we can:

a) create the news (BOTH 'RP specific' and 'general political including RP')
b) build a list of blogs, newsletters, sites, journalists, writers, reporters, etc...
c) distribute to alliance list of everyone in b)
d) paid and free mass distribution

It would great if the press releases just went to 2nd tier local papers, the papers that the age 60+ers read, yes those people who make up 70% of the vote!

is there a method to getting a free or deep discount for avoiding the major newspapers ?

How many release could be guarantee for marketwire.com?

So that I can work on getting a bulk price.

Rhys

if I do this, no one gets to bitch at me for making a space ship!

I'll say we can guarantee 4 releases a month. Im guessing but it's a starting point guess.

mention that we could use a "service to the community" discount... on the downlow.
