Man, Jon Stewart just did a Foreign Policy piece that looked like it came from Ron Paul.

Can anyone find it on Youtube, this would be great to circulate.

If he could only just mention DR. Paul...

I know, but if we can splice RP arguments with Guliani around it, it would be magic.

I have it on DVR and can type a transcript of it if y'all would like.

Segment Name is America to The Rescue:

Stewart:

Now obviously the Iraq war is very complicated, it is one reason the Barack Obama foreign policy experience is going to be an important issue in this campaign. You can't have a "newbie" overthrowing this delicate balance that we have engineered and maintained in this complex region.

For instance: A weakened Iraq has meant a strengthened Iran. And since Iran is Shia our Sunni friends in Saudi Arabia are none to happy about that. But that is no problem for our experienced hands.

(Shows video of Bush: "We will bring freedom to others and we will prevail", Big Logo America to the Rescue)

Stewart

Yes a few weeks ago the White House announced plans to sell $20 billion in weapons to the Saudi Royal family...... BOOM.... Balance of Power restored.

(Smiling Jon Stewart, Picture of Saudi Arabia)

Trust me you don't have to worry about weapons being sent to a country like that. May I remind you that a full 20% of the 9/11 hijackers were not from there.

(Smile Fades, Picture of Israel)

Of course this move may intimidate our circumcised friends to the west. They may be nervous because Saudi Arabia may be considered some what friendly with Hamas.

(Picture of Hamas Flag)

Although I don't want to overstate the case. I mean the Saudi's like Hamas, but its not like they have held telethons for them in the past or..... (Holds hand to ear).... Ok I'm being told they have held telethons for Hamas in the past, but that is not going to be a problem.

(America to the Rescue Logo)

Because last week the White House announced that it would increase aid to Israel by 25%, $30 billion dollars over the next decade to them.

(Stewart wiping his hands)

Oh Billion dollars is there no dispute you can't settle.

You might ask how we got so experience at this. We've been rescuing the middle east for some time now. Think back to 1990 when an oil rich but very nice little county named Kuwait was invaded by the very not nice Iraq.

(Video of George H. W. Bush "We will help any government that wants our help", Logo America to the Rescue ('90's Style))

Of course we actually stopped short of invading Iraq at that time, I think you remember the Secretary of Defense (Picture of Cheney from '94 CSPAN video) made a pretty strong case against it..... (Smile turns to frown) He said it would be a quagmire.... He was smart.

(Map of Kuwait)

See at that time we had to weaken Saddam Hussein who had become power by purchasing a shit load of weapons from (takes a look at his notes) ..... Oh boy

(America to the Rescue Logo)

(Map of Iraq)

Opps..... See that time we had to give him the weapons because he was at war with Iran....

But once Saddam got powerful we had to worry that he would topple our friends in Saudi Arabia......

Which is why we put troops there which kind of pissed off this guy (picture of Osama Bin Laden)....

Who had also gotten very powerful fighting the Russians in Afghanistan after getting weapons from...(looks at notes).... SON OF A BITCH

(Video Regan: "Reach out a hand when they fall", America to the Rescue Logo (80's Style))

WHAT THE FUCK (Stewart throws notes)

(Map of Afghanistan with Taliban written on it)

My point is that foreign policy experience is very important!!!....Because it helps you learn "nation building".,

Which is knowledge that we can take back to our county and apply to building our own infrastructure... Like when our roads crumble. (waits, silence) or when our bridges collapse (waits, silence) or when a hurricane wipes out one of our cities (waits, silence)

Midnight basketball?

(Please stand by logo)

(Frustrated Stewart) FUCK!!!

Yeah I almost changed the channel after he was gushing all over Obama without asking him any relevant policy questions. As a young person this is really frustrating, alot of my peers think he's going to be like magical or shit because they don't know jack about the issues.

To be fair, Obama has a great chance to be considered "magical or shit" if he simply runs our foreign policy in a much less naive and arrogant way than our current administration.

We need to include this youtube piece with Ron Paul's stuff.
This is gold.

Jon Stewart is parroting Ron Paul!!!

I like it!!

I'm just catching the re-runs.

More Aid to Israel? $20 billion in arms to the country that harbored those who attacked us?

That's it's Democrats and Neocons, keep giving Ron Paul and his army ammunition, we're using it wisely.

Comedy Central will have the clips. YouTube canot show ANY CC clips of Colbert or Stewart. They have some kind of lawsuit going on. Raw Story and Crooks and Liars have Stewart and Colbert clips every day or two.

Well...that choice is Israel-worshipping socialist neocon versus Israel-worshipping socialist neocon...so it doesn't even matter.

I was just on Obama's site to look at his stance on the issues for fun and I nearly died laughing. Everything either said "Obama will increase fuding to this" or something about how we're going to go help out other countries and get involved with their problems. If he wins the election we haven't seen anything yet regarding our debt. Or "Obama will FORCE insurance companies to spend more in these areas" does this guy realize the government can't force companies to do what he wants?

Exactly. Whats even funnier is he proclaims to be a "uniter" and a moderate democrat or something, but his voting record shows him to be FAR left. I have just as much contempt for Obama as i do for hillary. Well not AS much - he does have a FEW slightly better positions... but... i might take hillary on fridays, and obama every other day of the week..

..when he had Obama on it sort of made me sick though. He used the "do americans go for that" line again. Obama told everyone he was "different" and that he tells the "truth" and doesn't give any examples, just like everyone else on the DEM side except kucinich/gravel.
