I was just noticing that the Michigan GOP race for Senate against Carl Levin is wide open if we could get 15,000 valid signatures before the 13th this month. I know it'd be a long shot against Levin, but we could definitely make an effective run for the GOP nomination there, considering the financial leader has less then $200,000. All we need is to get 15,000 signatures (maximum of 30,000) before the 13th.

I think it is crazy and will probably wind up in a total mess organizationally, but it can be pulled off.

It sounds worth it.

Where are you Michigan?

Oh. We need a candidate first...

Call everyone you'd think would be interested in Michigan. I know absolutely no Michigan Ron Paul supporters, or any Michiganders for that matter. Also, can someone get the RP meetups together? We need to start bright an early tomorrow if at all possible.

lol i'll do it for shits and giggles if you get me on the ballot. it's not like we have anyone else and I'm here. I don't know if you know how powerful Levin is though. It's worse than Dingel.

If you need 15,000 valid signatures, you really need 25,000 signatures minimum.

He speaks the truth. Only about 60-70% of the signatures I collected were valid, this was after I did a check to make sure people filled out the info correctly. So among correctly filled out signatures, only 6-7 out of 10 people were verifiable.

Seriously, go for it. As long as you don't have a name you can laugh at and can put yourself together in the morning, I'd say we're good.

I know. The max you can get in Michigan is 30,000. We have 2485 in a meetup (excluding one with delegates in the name), not including those interested. That's that many signatures, and that means they'd each need to get just over 10 to sign.

It would put the wind up Levin.

Know anyone? Someone who can make a speech and sound articulate, has a name that doesn't have negative connotations, and looks well put together. They should also be fairly successful in their career.

Check out some of the words of the first song, it only plays part of it...

I nominate Mark Farner, from Grand Funk Railroad. He has name recognition, is used to big crowds (broke the Beatles Shea stadium record), is a 2nd amendment defender (got Frank Zappa in the NRA), hates the IRS, future Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer (hated by critics, but 10 straight platinum records), and is a gospel musician to boot. One of the all time great rock voices. Grand Funk was an amazing grass roots success story.

And he won't mind sticking it to the Establishment.

Well he has like two days to get a lot of signatures.

Who wants to tell him?
