Or at least not a subject I have seen here. If you understand economics at a freshman college level, you should know that pure competition (which is what we, not liberals refer to as capitalism) generates the lowest possible price for all goods. Logically, the lower the price of good, the better off everyone, rich or poor, is. Unfortunately the general public has been tricked into thinking that capitalism makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.
The only way to accomplish this, is to have a leader, which people think is a capitalist, ruin the economy. This is where Bush and McCain come in. Right now it has appeared as though Bush ruined our economy. The mainstream media is telling everyone that Bush is a capitalist. So the general public thinks that a capitalist ruined our economy. Hence that leads them to believe government control of the market (which we here all realize is socialism) is a good thing. Bush and McCain are both too stupid to ever run a country. Obviously "Republicans" can see this. So instead of abandoning them, they seem to promote them as real Republicans. It would be very easy for Bush, McCain, or anyone in the media that understands economics to point out that our current economic policy is actually socialist and socialism is what is ruining our economy.
This is where the subject I haven't seen brought up comes in. Bush and McCain (and really every other front running Republican for most of the century) are socialists. Since the Republican party is supposed to represent capitalism, you would expect them to be capitalists. I think there is some kind of masterplan cooked up by the global elite to make the economy grow while Democrats are in control and recede when "capitalist" republicans are in control. At some point the Republicans would have pointed it out, but they too wants socialism. In order to get this they have accepted the role of the destroyers of the economy to push people to vote for openly socialist Democrats. There's really nothign else that could explain anything.
