He stated that we should fundraise 5-10 Ron Paul Republicans for the White House in 2012. The people would see it as the only few choices they get but they would have a good one this time. The RP repubican candidates would only talk about their background and the media would no one else to report on because it is all RP Republicans for office. There might be a few neocons running but they willl have less influence given that the GOP committee will be filled with RP republicans as well as we have already started. We can start funding these RP canidates now till 2012 where they would have over $100 million by the time the campaign rolled around.:)

This isn't a viable plan. It will split the money and the cause. We need to have at least % in the polls before the first debate in order to be let in, and I don't think we could muster that for so many candidates.

I disagree. With only one Ron Paul the media was able to ingore him but the media cannot ignore 10 Ron Paul's.

Yes they can. Instead of one candidate with 36 Million and 6/7% in the polls. we'll have 10 with 3.6 million each and .6/.7% in the polls. We could give one candidate one hundred million dollars, and then he/she can't be ignored. Also, we need a campaign with a strategy, not a mission to "spread the message."

They will all have 100 million because we would start donating NOW and I put this in my original post.

Instead of "5-10 Ron Paul Republicans for the White House" how about 50-100 Ron Paul Republicans for Congress and Senate???

The money being raised for 2012 is a span of 4 years. Ron Paul rasied 20 million in 5 months. It is a reasonable goal.

We can't think of stacking the deck for 2012. It's too soon. It takes time to gain seniority and viability. Maybe for 2016 after a few terms have been served. Right now there are too few prominent RP Republicans (retired or still in office) to pressure them all to run in 2012. Just one candidate is a better idea. For now, let's get local RP Republicans in office - the House and Senate on the national and state levels need them!

Expecting candidates to run is not new. It is better to be prepared well in advance. This is how the media handpicks canidates because they have been planning their runs years before. This is why they have millions at the beginning of a campaign.

You mean like make a donation to his congressional campaign and hold a charity for his presidential run at the same time? Ok.

Or how about you focus on one thing at a time. Your eyes are bigger than your stomach.

So we should wait till the last minute?

Um, the neocons got their moderate the coveted Presumptive Nominee title by splitting the conservative vote. If Dr. Paul had been the only person running against McCain or McCain and 9iu11iani, he'd be the presumptive nominee. He had, however, Romney, Huckabee and Thompson splitting the votes of the conservatives between them.

So, vote splitting got us McCain this time. Why would we repeat that mistake all by ourselves? TPTB will run a neocon against us. Why would we pre-split our vote for them? I don't get it...

No, we should be realistic. It is not realistic to be planning BJ Lawson's run for president before he has even won his first elected office.

Brandon's idea is great for 2012 if we had someone who would be ready for the race by then.

BJ Lawson, Vern McKinley and Amit Singh and hopefully others will have ideally only served two terms in Congress by then. That's not enough experience.

In that time, we will find more people like these guys, and get them in--we are just starting to build an infrastructure. There aren't any governors waiting in the wings, like Reagan. If there were, then I'd be on board.

Focus is very important if we are to actually make some changes. Putting money in a "coffer" for some intangible, unknown candidate will likely not be successful and could lead to a lot of infighting in the movement.
