Former Arkansas Gov. and GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee has released the Oklahoma delegates he won during the state's presidential primary this year.

Huckabee encouraged the six delegates he won to vote for Republican presumptive presidential nominee John McCain, said Gary Jones, the chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Party.

Jones said Monday he has contacted Huckabee's delegates and "all but one” of them said they would vote for McCain.

The other delegate is going to vote for U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who is continuing his presidential bid despite dropping out of recent primaries.

If that holds true, 40 of Oklahoma's 41 GOP votes to be cast during the Republican National Convention in September will be for McCain, a U.S. senator from Arizona, Jones said. Paul, who did not win a delegate during Oklahoma's Feb. 5 presidential primary, would get one vote.

McCain earned 23 delegates for winning Oklahoma's primary, and nine other delegates for winning three congressional districts.

Huckabee finished second in the primary, but earned six delegates for winning two congressional districts.

Oklahoma has three additional delegates — Jones and two national committee members — who are committed to McCain.

Way to stick it to the McCain.

They reported that Ron Paul dropped out of recent primaries? Maybe we ought to let them know that they made a mistake....

I don't believe they're all going to vote for McCain..

They're idol, Mike Huckabee called them. Of course they'd say they would do as he asked, and vote for McCain. That one dude has some massive balls. Congrats, he's the only man there.

Hopefully the rest of them, simply lied. We're guarenteed 1, with prospects for the others. Regardless, that is ONE we never had to start with..

Welcome aboard! :D

Given the Huckabee turnout in PA, I think we should find these delegates and start calling them. But don't spam.

Time to get ourselves over to http://forum.hucksarmy.com/ (http://forum.hucksarmy.com/) and convince those released delegates to support Ron Paul.

I seriously doubt that they post there.

You are probably right. There were only four members and four guests there when I made a visit a short while ago.

I seriously think that's a bad idea.

no... Ron Paul or the Paul campaign should start calling them. Having 100 crazed Paul supporters (or GOP fanatics posing as Paul supporters) calling them all hours of the day would be a good way to convince them to NOT vote for Ron Paul.

or..
The Paul campaign could send them a nice letter and a copy of The Manifesto..

The sad thing is to think about all of those huck fans who talked about how dedicated the huckster was when all he really was, was waiting to rally all his troops around WHOEVER was closer to winning the republican nomination. Nothing different from mccain except the huckster does his order giving from a pulpit.

I don't go there often, but I browse once in a while. I don't think they were privy to the whole delegate process. They are also hoping for a VP spot for Huckabee. I just don't think that sect of the Huckabee supporters are even open to RP's platform at all.

Does any one know how many delegates both Huckabee and Romney have that will be going to the National Convention?

According to thegreepaper.com (http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/R.phtml), Huckabee has 257 and Romney has 193.

That's a total of 450.

I wonder how many of them will vote for Ron Paul.

Huckabee has no chance at getting the VP job. That position will go to a zionist neo-con, probably Joe Lieberman.

Isn't that astounding that Lieberman would even be considered? The republicans are having apoplexy about Ron Paul and at my district convention last weekend, we were told that we were in the wrong party, but no one's having a fit over the possibility of Lieberman as the republican VP?

Ummm, ok, makes plenty of sense to me...:rolleyes:
