The republican party is delusional if they think they have any chance at all of winning. Public opinion of Bush is so bad that they flat out cannot win no matter what. It will be a huge landslide. The only way they had any shot at all was to elect Ron Paul because he is against the war and would have gotten a lot of votes that will go to the Democrats now. Instead they did everything possible to exclude him and pushed McCain.

It's write in Ron Paul or Libertarian for me. I can't decide which is best.

This is kind of premature... only one of the parties listed has even selected its nominee.

Also, a lot of states won't allow write-ins for Ron Paul (in some states, a candidate must register as a write-in to have written-in votes counted, while others don't allow it at all), so if he does not become the nominee of one of the parties, those people will have to make another choice.

I think a lot of people on here that are saying that the Republicans don't have a chance to win in November are forgetting about all the fraudulant voting machines out there. I'm willing to wager that the vote will be somewhere around 49% to 47% with around 4% voting for the various independent parties. McCain could lose 75% to 25% and the media and voter fraud would push him into a statistical dead-heat with Obama or Clinton. Sad but true.

Under Michigan law, in most cases, a write-in vote will not be counted unless the individual receiving the vote has filed a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate. This provision eliminates the need for election officials to count frivolous votes, such as for cartoon characters or individuals who have no intention to serve if elected. The deadline for a write-in candidate to file the declaration of intent is 4 p.m. on the Friday immediately preceding the election.
