So I've seen several threads dealing with songs for the campaign and videos and what not. Some of the suggestions are for popular songs with the lyrics changed. Most of them are very genre specific or dated or depressing protest songs. Most of them are just really bad songs.
I haven't given any suggestions cuz I really hate when campaigns try to use popular culture to make you vote for the person. They usually pick the lowest common denominator of the blandest music to appeal to a wider audience or use whatever pop references are hip at the time. The Clintons ripping off the Sopranos finale and that fucking Fleetwood Mac song during his campaign come to mind! I think Rumours is a great album and loved the Sopranos but that just drove me up the wall.
So anyway, I came across this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdqjOmcfxqk) and thought it would be a good song.
A) It's about Ron Paul.
B) It's a timeless fun simple style that spans generations. Everyone enjoys boogie woogie piano riffs. Unless you're some depressing goth who hates anything that doesn't sound like a guy screaming over a chainsaw with a hammer and anvil banging away in the background. And even they like it, they just won't admit it.
C) It's well executed.
It's Southern Blues, it's Chicago Blues, it's New Orleans jazz, it's '50s rock'n'roll, it's WWII boogie woogie, it's honky tonk, it's ragtime, it's School House Rock,
