Summer's coming up fast. It's time to start organizing Ron Paul supporters' parade efforts.

Lots of small towns (and some larger ones) have parades during the summer, typically as part of a town festival which promotes something about the town's heritage. Find out when and where these parades are and how you can be included in parades. Contact city officials to inquire about parade permits and requirements. (If they try to charge you a fee for political parade entrants, but they don't charge commercial or other entrants, complain. Parades are typically patriotic events, and what better way to show patriotism than by promoting a candidate?)

Decide what you want to do in the parade. This depends on how many people you have, how much money you can put into it, and your creativity. Parade watchers won't get too excited by a few people walking down the street carrying Ron Paul signs. There are lots of things you can do to spice it up, and I'm not just talking about throwing Tootsie Rolls to the kids. Make it something they'll remember and talk about, but don't make it look like a protesters' demonstration. Twirl your signs like an honor guard. Dress in 1776 period clothing. Give away dollar bills with a note attached explaining the inflation tax. Have a couple of people walking each side of the street passing out literature, stickers, treats, etc. Lots of options. Just keep it respectable and don't adulterate it with anything that people will label as "kooky". You can't explain to someone on a sign why the IRS really shouldn't exist, so don't try. Just smile, have fun, and look like a winning team.

Post your tips and ideas here.

You could maybe have a few cases of The Revolution: A Manifesto and sell them for $10 each.
