Ron Paul Nevada Delegates Voted to National Convention before Recess

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 30, 2008

RENO, NEVADA — The Nevada State Republican Convention was called to an abrupt halt on Saturday, after delegates supporting Texas Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul were elected to the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Prior to the recess, the John McCain campaign asked for and was not granted a recess to meet with their delegates. In response, Convention Chairman Bob Beers unexpectedly announced that the contract on the convention hall had expired and the convention would be reconvened at some future date. The Ron Paul campaign is confident that the Nevada State Republican Party will ensure that the votes cast by of all of the delegates at the April 26th Nevada State Republican Convention will be respected.

By the time of the recess, voting for three national delegates from Congressional District 1 and from Congressional District 3 apiece had been completed. Beers himself read off the ballots for Congressional District 1 which resulted in the election of Senator John Ensign, Danny Tarkhenian, and Chris Dyer as national delegates. Dave Gibbs, member of the Clark County GOP Executive Board who also observed the vote counting, shook Dyer’s hand and congratulated him on his election. Dyer is a committed Paul supporter.

In Congressional District 3, Ron Paul supporters Arden Osborne, Carl Bunce, and Elizabeth BelCastro were elected, followed by Bruce Woodbury, the County Commissioner for Clark County. State Senator Barbara Cegavske, a candidate for national delegation in her Congressional District, initialed the credential badges of state delegates as they cast their votes and observed the vote counting.

In Congressional District 2, Congressman Dean Heller was in the lead, followed closely by Paul supporters Robert Terhune, Pat Kerby, and Marla Criss. When the count was halted, the remaining (approximately 50%) of the uncounted ballots were placed into seven sealed envelopes, signed by supporters of both John McCain and Ron Paul, and deposited in a safe at the Peppermill Casino in Reno. The Ron Paul campaign obtained Xerox copies of the signatures and drivers licenses of those who signed the sealed envelopes and deposited them in the safe.

That must be why the 'liberal' media is talking non-stop about it since the weekend - not.

That 'liberal' media is clearly working very hard - since last November - to ensure a McCain win, starting with the Lieberman endorsement and a famous rating 'surge' where it counts - there is no mystery.

That's why the 'liberal' media is obsessing about every bit of 'controversy' between and around Obama and Clinton - trying to make them totally unappealing and hopefully unelectable, so the "chosen one" can squeak through.

What the 'liberal' geniuses don't quite understand - yet - is that Ron Paul will win - events will make that inevitable...

Have they set a place and a date to reconvene?

dang. chill. we all hate the media, but it wasnt infighting till Paul's camp made a press statement, which they just did. It was our group causing a ruckus, remember? now, it's official infighting just like them dems!

oh yeah... the whole mccain thing is just to make sure a dem wins. no one wants him. no one.

don't mistake a ratings bonanza for a desire to have McNovicane president.

You see, that is were most people make a fundamental mistake. 'Democracy' has nothing to do with what the people want, mainly because most don't know what they want, until they are told - by 'experts'.

This page http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/pages/rosnerPage.jhtml has accurately predicted every major move in poll numbers and media focus since at least last October when I first paid attention to it. They even removed a page, after I pointed out the corollation between their rating change (Oct 16, 07) and the immediate, next day change in poll numbers and media blabber about Huck (someone ratted:-). Like I said, there are no mysteries.

BTW, that page lists 26 former and current candidates, but one has always been missing - always...

Thanks to that page above, I could 'predict' the Huckabee surge, the McCain resurrection, the precise moment when Huckabee will suspend, the Obama troubles, and on and on, all without a crystal ball. That's just the way it is - for now.

So why does the Ghoul get 8.0 and dropped out before everyone?

So why does the Ghoul get 8.0 and dropped out before everyone?

Who was #1 in ThePolls, got the best press and the most air-time in debates, right up to McCain surge moment in NH, when it became quite apparent that a sufficient number of people would not buy that pipe dream? He was the clear favorite (#1) throughout the year, until that moment. The final 8.4 only reflects that - and some nostalgia, I suppose...

The point of my posts is that the 'independent media' and the 'scientific polls' deliver very predictably and according to script, unless one believes in serial coincidences. It's called "creating facts on the ground" and then hope that perception will catch up to reflect them. It's done all the time, it's also called marketing. The most obvious example is how the Iraq war was sold; the same way and by the same combo. It happens to a greater or lesser degree, every time one turns on the tube or opens the paper.

You can read that page and know what the spin and numbers will be tomorrow. That does not mean it's working, or at least not to the extent it used to, hence the risky (desperate?) McCain gambit. As I repeat for a few years now: "they are toast".

This Ron Paul thing is much, much bigger than the numbers suggest...

I was also interested to see that Bloomberg and Gingrich were rated above 8, who each kept receiving media hype until they themselves declined to run, Bloomberg more so.

And Looking at some of their "worst for Israel": Under Chuck Hagel, it cites that he thinks Palestinian/Israeli peace is essential to peace in the Middle East.
They think that's a bad thing? They are that stubborn to accept Palestinians as neighbors that they will oppose candidates seeking peace.

This is somewhat true but here are a few more details.

The ballots had been presorted to aid in counting. The "Three Amigo's" (paul supporters) were set in a separate pile and had not been counted yet. The folks in the room are sure that they will beat heller and take the three top spots.

And when that happens, I, for one, will heave a huge sigh of relief!
