Can Fort Worth straw poll lift GOP also-rans? (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/politics/local/stories/DN-jeffers_22met.ART.State.Edition1.4240e3d.html)

Mr. Paul, the controversial congressman from Lake Jackson with Libertarian leanings, is working hard to win his home state.

He has the Ron Paul Pride of Texas Freedom Rally planned for Aug. 31, with performances from Jimmie Vaughan and the Horton Brothers Band.

He's also busing delegates from Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

A Paul victory in the straw poll could make the event appear on the fringe.

When asked about the prospect of a Paul victory, Mr. Klingler said he was not concerned.

"I don't know," he said. "It means Congressman Paul wins the Texas Straw Poll. This is a chance for some folks who don't have household names to have some major gains."

So if Paul wins, that makes the event fringe? The Dallas Morning News prints hit pieces like this regularly. I fucking hate this paper.
