sometimes these things are industry wide trends.

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?site0=www.ronpaul2008.com%2F&site1=www.hillaryclinton.co&site2=www.barackobama.com&site3=www.fred08.com&site4=www.joinrudy2008.com&y=r&z=3&h=300&w=610&range=3m&size=Medium&url=perfspot.com

that first graph alone might give the impression things took a big dip- but that was true for everyone.

sometimes these things are "industry wide" trends and not a result of anything that is lacking.

Seems like Barack has cooled a lot as well. Based on this chart the 2008 election is a race between Ron Paul and Hillary.

Maybe we need to introducing ourselves to Hillary supporters. :)

Ron needs the nomination. I think the GOP, being controlled by the Establishment, is throwing this election to the Democrats.

Yes, absolutely. Once he does that then we'll be head to head with Hillary. Then we'll win for sure. Can you imagine the debates? They won't be able to cut him off to 30 second responses if it's just down to two candidates. He'll put her to shame and quick.

Hmmm. I guess you can count on a well funded Independent candidate this year. They'll be trying everything they can to dilute Ron Paul support.

When it comes to Ron Paul support they're like the Grinch who stole Christmas.. they just don't understand what this is all about. Maybe come election day their hearts will grow 5 sizes bigger...

Well this guy claims it is final: you are all bots and viruses and Ron Paul is setting a bad example by hiring webmasters to spam the internet. This proves there is no real support behind him and he is setting a weak example for all of you...

Yeah, you rocked, Sematary!

There are however, still MASSES of people out there who still haven't even heard his name, much less his stances on the issues.

We have barely touched the people who do not live on the internet. Somehow, we've got to do that, before the massive disinfo campaign comes at us. We haven't seen nuthin' yet, I'm afraid.

Then more people need to get out and do what we're doing. Hanging signs is great and all but it doesn't do much to get him out to the people. If every single active meetup group would get out and flood concerts, football/baseball games, public events of all kinds with lots of people at them, we COULD get his name out there. You are right - we've barely scratched the surface. So how do we get these people to get out and get the word to the masses by simply going out and talking to them and handing them literature. We managed to talk to and get his name out to, about 4000 people in 5 HOURS!! THAT IS EFFECTIVE! Now we are talking about doing a BC EAGLES GAME. What about all the other thousands of football games that will be going on this fall? Why aren't people thinking about hitting these things? How can we get them to do it?
There are tons of concerts - how do we get them to get to them and start talking to people?
These are the only methods besides large, and expensive, advertisements in major newspapers and on television around the country that will get him known and THIS method is MORE EFFECTIVE!

I'm pretty sure that I'd like to work a Patriots game (at least one) this fall sometime, as well. How's this for an idea?
Let's get a pledge going at pledgebank (or anywhere for that matter) for every state that has a professional football team to get out and hand out fliers at at least ONE game - more is better, but at LEAST one?
We could also have one for college teams.
In fact, Every single college in the country should have a Ron Paul table set up somewhere and a voter registration drive to go along with it. Educate the kids. Get them boned up on election law and on Ron Paul and get them out to vote. I realize many are far from home but they can send in absentee ballots if necessary.
WE can organize this - as supporters of Ron Paul. We HAVE to start thinking BIG.

I do think the recent upward trend in the vacation month of August is awesome. You can see the early August spike and drop due to the interest in the Iowa straw poll, but the momentum is regaining while other candidates are dropping.

I'm sure Ozzfest helped (thanks Sematary!), but we have also kicked but in a lot of straw polls real recently that are all over the blogosphere.

Yup - but the time has passed for diggs and facebooks and all the other stuff. That gave us an initial burst of steam and continuing won't hurt (I don't think) but the people we have to reach haven't heard of these sites. Their children have, but they aren't the ones we need to get to now. The only way to REALLY beat this thing is to hit the streets and talk to people. It's effective and cost effective as well.

Agreed, but the fact that the website is on an upswing shows that more actual voters are showing a renewed interest in RP. Also agreed that now is the time for feet on the street and name recognition - which will get more people checking out the website, YouTube, etc.

I think the West Alabama straw poll thread and news coverge thread is a great example. RP wins the straw poll by a landslide, gets some bogus press which only helps with name recognition and the town is plastered in RP signs - to the point that the local paper has a poll as to whether they need stricter sign ordinances. This is great stuff that creates that BUZZ we need to get going everywhere.

Yup - but we still need to get out in force and start hitting major events. Please get your meetup to sign a pledge or just get a bunch of people together like I did for Ozzfest.

alexa is regarded as totally broken in the web industry. It is very easy to disprove alexa's rankings (it shows youtube.com with more hits than google.com, both are owned by the same company as they report the traffic on google.com is 10x youtube)

Use google trends, compete.com or hitwise.com if you are going to quote a source for an article or blog entry

How is it that Rudy's verifiable interest is so low. People go on a candidates website if they are interested and want to find out more about their positions. How is he is only at like 6% market share, yet he is winning all the phone polls.

The alexa numbers are compiled by people who have the toolbar (probably younger and more web savvy than their parents.

They all say the same thing. Look at Hitwise.com, Rudy is at only 3.82%. Very few people are clicking on to his website. So, those who are voting for Rudy do not use the internet to research. Very interesting.

I bet at least a little of that is Ron Paul supporters spending Rudy's money. Every so often I click on the google ads on the bottom of these forums. I find it amusing having Rudy, Obama, and others pay for the maintainance of this site. I never click on any ad links for paul, always go to the sites directly.

I also find it funny that their links send me straight to the donation page. Shouldn't it go to an issues page first? Find out about the candidate then donate. Just answered my own question.

If you want to do this, click on some of their other pages. I think some of the ads don't register if you don't.
