I posted a while back as to what is the future of RP student groups and I got an answer today. I spoke to someone that was in communique with Jeff Frazee (the national RP youth coordinator) and he told me that Jeff is creating a non-profit called Young Americans for Liberty.

I found a link with information about it at http://mccainreport.net/ (I don't know whats up with the URL name).

That sounds good. I was hoping for "Students for a Free America".

Yep, great news that "our" organizations are evolving and not dying out.

Found an interesting website that claims to be YAL.

http://youngamericansforliberty.org/

Theres not much there other than a mildly disturbing photo of Reagan turning into a skeleton with "Bush is Safe" at the top, and "I eat brains" at the bottom. There is also a spot where you can subscribe to their mailing list. I personally think, though funny, that this is not the image that this organization should display to everyone. The goal of YAL should be to create a group where ideas can be exchanged and where we can make an effort to work towards getting like-minded individuals elected into office.

You know I saw that too a couple of days ago, but check out the site now. Much better...

New post up on Daily Paul...

Every fall semester the Leadership Institute (LI) launches a massive field program. They hire around 70 Field Representatives to work across the country and start conservative/libertarian student organizations. (Competition is fierce, however - over 1000 applications last year.)

Now for the best part. Students for Ron Paul is becoming Young Americans for Liberty. I’ve already spoken with the Leadership Institute, and they are perfectly happy to help us start YAL chapters. Therefore, you will get paid to travel to colleges and universities and start YAL chapters on campuses. You will directly affect and grow our movement.

I worked at the Leadership Institute after I graduated, and it was a stepping stone towards becoming the National Youth Coordinator for Ron Paul. It is a quality organization and many of their staffers are Ron Paul supporters. If you enjoy the grassroots, college activism, and you’re a people person, this is the job for you. -
