Just guessing, but I would imagine that they would rather nobody go to the national convention than let Ron Paul delegates in.

If Beers shows and "presumes" a quorum, and then no one contests it by asking for an actual count... they will go forward as if it is a legitimate convention.

If he get's called into court on it, he will simply pull an "AlbertoGonzales" and claim that he doesn't recall, etc.

With a compliant judiciary, they'll get away with it.


Where he is more likely to run into eventual legal problems is with his illegitimate "recess" of the Saturday assembly (i.e. a legitimate "recess" requires a motion, second, and majority vote just as is required for an adjourn).
