View Full Version : I have a theory of WHY the Nevada convention went the way it did

The Nevada GOP, in a calculated effort, acted intentionally in a manner that would hopefully nullify all delegates from Nevada because of who they were obviously going to support.

Not going to vote for McCain? Fine. Your votes will be nullified. Next state.

No they lose 90% of the delegates they screwed up on. They'd have 11 delegates (7/11 Ron Paul supporters).

No delegates from NV. They hope.

because they already voted on 9 of the delegates before SHTF?

I bet if the RP supporters went to the conventions wearing suits (and a lapel pin to identify each other), they could have done what they did in Texas.

In Texas, they used band-aids in Houston. Elsewhere, civility won the day as the RP delegates chosen showed that they still had conservative roots. The incognito approach before the actual votes worked. No lying, just peace.

Whatever the case, at the NRC we HAVE to dress professionally. Hopefully by then we will have a strategy and enough delegates to make an impact.

Its hard when Ron Paul himself shows up.

But the bigger point is YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HIDE.

With that said we should realize we have to hide to win.

What a sham. At least now we're forcing them to fix elections in open view. I don't personally know that anything's really been fixed ever, but that's what this is to me. Crooks, from the top down.

Been saying for awhile now that might be the tactic for states attempting to "save face" nationally. If you read what the NV establishment party-line folks are saying, they are admitting that Paul delegates will win the day. So at this point their options are send a full delegation peppered with Paul supporters, or be sanctioned and 1) reduce the number that McCain needs to get 50%+1, and 2) reduce the number of opposition delegates and supporters at the RNC.

I wonder if they will have the sand to go this route.

if they are ready to lose 1/4 of their base, let them continue down this death road for the gop.

That makes sense. At CD2 Convention they said the St. Charles County caucus was invalid and ended up disenfranchising 115 delegates including 10 of their own.

However, the reason that our caucus was invalidated was complete fiction.

Reason 1) We amended the party platform and "it wasn't done in good faith."

Reason 2) "An agreement was made between the Conservative Values slate to allow the St. Charles Central Committee to submit their list of delegates as alternates," which was true. "This list was never turned in with all the other material."

Nevermind, the St. Charles Central Committee didn't even have their list with them nor would they send it to us upon request.

Reason 3) We setup a Conservative Values table where people could sign up. This was sited as being "decietful" due to the fact it was "seen as a seperate registration table." Nevermind, you had to stand in line to register FIRST and then proceed to the caucus room where our table was setup right outside.

Basically, they can do whatever the hell they want. They'll break the rules whenever it suits their interests.

What's the delegate situation in LA, are those all still in limbo also?

Coming from Michigan and the hoopla caused by the Dems not taking any delegates from the state, I hope that states not sending anything to the GOP convention should cause just as much of an uproar.

someone get down there and give us a report.

I am trying to confirm.

I have zero email from 3 seperate meet-ups...the folks at the Peppermill have email capacity.

Nor have I received any phone calls...our sign in list from this morning had phone #s on it in case this happened.

I just left a msg w/ one of the meetup coordinators just in case.

Just got this email IN RE: the DailyPaul/JohnGault alert. This is from one of my meetup coordinators.

We have not gotten word through official channels (in other words, the campaign hasn't called the county points of contact and those points of contact haven't started their phone trees), so it's safe to assume anything online is pure speculation.

If that changes, you'll hear from me as soon as I know.
