Crowne Plaza Airport - Detroit (http://www.republicanlibertycaucus.org/NatCon08/Con08_Speakers.htm)

Detroit - September 12-14

In the wake of the GOP National Convention two weeks earlier, the RLC will hold its 8th biennial National Convention.

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, an outspoken opponent of the War on Drugs and a prominent advocate of individual liberty, will be among our featured speakers, joined by the President of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist. Texas Representative Ron Paul was invited, but unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict.

The Convention Committee has invited prominent liberty stars to participate in panels, debates, and seminars. Many RLC Advisors and state legislators are expected to be in attendance

Featured Speaker - Gary Johnson
Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson has been a long-time and prominent opponent of the "War on Drugs" and a champion of individual rights.

You may have seen Johnson in Showtime's American Drug War (http://www.sho.com/site/schedules/product_page.do?seriesid=0&episodeid=131464).

I am a member of the mailing list here, but I refuse to join the national group because the group here isn't really a chapter. The content is controlled by people who don't want to set up a "real" chapter because elections might mean they'd lose editorial control.

Huh?

I am the chairman of the Wyoming chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus. We received our charter in January of this year. We're all Ron Paul supporters. If you don't like the RLC chapter in your state, see if it is really "chartered" by the national RLC - many are not. If that's the case, find 9 other Ron Paul supporters and then apply for a charter from the national RLC. I'd bet they will approve your charter.
