I've been reading the threads over on alankeyes.com to find out what's going on at the CP convention today. There is a live feed on his website, but I'm at work and I can't watch it. Anyways, apparently, CP founder Howard Phillips is giving a speech right now basically telling the delegates that Alan Keyes is a neocon and should not be nominated. Also, according to the angry Keyes supporters on those forums, he seems to be praising Ron Paul. Is he simply setting the stage for a Baldwin nomination, or does he want the delegates to draft Dr. Paul? :D

Alan Keyes would be okay if he wasn't pro war.

Alan Keyes would be okay if he wasn't pro war.

Okay in that "disowned his daughter, kicked her out, and backed out on a promise to pay her tuition because he found out she was gay" sort of way. I mean, this is a guy to whom family values has real meaning - in that he's always concerned about the political value of his family. Ugh.

No.

Me too. I wonder if he crosses that fine line from genius (I'll grant you he's smart) to insane.

Keyes, imho, is a few cards short of a full deck. He's always been loud and exciteable, but in recent years, he looks and acts downright nuts- he'll appear rational for a while, then his eyes will bug out and he'll go on an insane rant.

Keyes makes McCain look calm and rational by comparison (and thats not good, folks).

You know how awesome that would be. If they just nominated him and he was on the ballot. They are in quite a few states right. I am going to look it up now.

Peroutka is not even a member of the CP anymore.

Peroutka is not even a member of the CP anymore.

Why did he leave?

Edit: Apparently one of the candidates of the CP supported some exceptions to abortion bans, and the national party didn't disaffiliate themselves with the state party (NV) that endorsed him.

Ok, so apparently Dr. Paul is on the nominating ballot at the CP convention along with Keyes and Baldwin...
