Massachusetts Police Get Black Uniforms to Instill Sense of 'Fear'
Thursday, April 24, 2008
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Springfield's men in black are returning.
The city's new police commissioner, William Fitchet, says members of the department's Street Crime Unit will again don black, military-style uniforms as part of his strategy to deal with youth violence.
Fitchet's predecessor, Edward Flynn, had ditched the black attire as part of an effort to soften the image of the unit. Flynn left Springfield in January to become the police chief in Milwaukee.
Sgt. John Delaney told a city council hearing Wednesday that the stark uniforms send a message to criminals that officers are serious about making arrests.
Delaney said a sense of "fear" has been missing for the past few years.

I hate this kind of crap. It's not fear that deters crime. It's wealth and land ownership.

How very, very true.
But when the "system" has become an engine of wealth destruction and loss of ownership, not just land but your very body and mind, then it stands to reason the system has nothing to fall back on but fear.

Ever heard of white-collar crime? We seem to have plenty of that going on amongst the wealthy in this country. Most of it is never prosecuted. Those types of people tend to have connections.

I could make a joke about Star Wars, but I think this subject is too serious. This country is voting in fear now, and it affects both parties. We are in a slippery slope when elected bodies decide that fear is the best way to govern.
I would venture that there will be a breaking point for some... this road does not end in a pot of gold.

Pick and choose my friend. Am I the liberal atheist marxist socialist obama troll, or am I the globalist, corporatist, fascist....
Let's stay on one insult for me. It's hard to fight more than one label.

Um.....awkward.
Those with common sense are attacked from both extremes, I should take it as a compliment.
