I was part of the grassroots effort in Bucks County PA. We are a northern suburb of Phila. In PA our Delegate run as Uncommitted, and their names appear on the ballot for direct election, with no associated Presidential preference indentification.

Our 3 opponents were a popular State Senator, a County Recorder of Deeds, and the State Party Treasurer. Bucks has a real machine, and all County wide office holders are Republican.

We had about 30 really active members, and another 20 members who were active until McCain "clinched" the nomination. We had a list from the campaign of about 800 "supporters/volunteers/donors/etc".

We had about 25 of the ~270 polling places covered on election day, which constituted about 19% of all Republican voters. We won at least 1 Delegate slot in about half of the polls we had covered.

We did varying degrees of canvasing, but mostly lit drops of Ron Paul info.

We just didn't have the people to get it done.
