Cosponsorship information sometimes is out of date. Why?
Bill Text:
The text of this legislation is not yet available on GovTrack. It may not have been made available by the Government Printing Office yet.

This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills go first to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills never make it out of committee. Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned. Just saw this article (http://www.drugpolicy.org/news/042308mj.cfm)

The first federal marijuana decriminalization bill in 25 years was just introduced in Congress. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) and Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced H.R. 5843, the “Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults Act of 2008,” which would decriminalize possession of marijuana for personal use. Please urge your representative to support this important legislation.

Less non-violent drug offenders in jail and at home where they can get real help. Seems pretty reasonable to me.
