Paul should mention that not enough states voted in favor of an income tax in order to ratify the 16th amendment.

Ron looks good. Looks like he got some rest. Nice segment. Cavuto was very respectful and seemed to be largely agreeing with Paul. I guess it's ok to be nice now that he can't win the Republican nomination.

Interesting that Ron is claiming that McCain stole the gas tax cut idea from him.

I realize a third party run is next to impossible, but does anyone else wonder why Ron Paul continues to say "about as close as you can get" instead of simply "no?" It might be semantics and the Congressman's demeanor coming through more than anything else, but it does leave me mildly baffled.

I wonder if Ron Paul has some unlikely scenario in the back of his mind whereby he would run as a third party candidate? Something like a total economic collapse or war with Iran in a McCain vs. Hillary contest?

Again, he's not going to do this under current circumstances, but it's interesting he still refrains from a flat out no.

i was just thinking that... its never a NO its always "i have no intention to at this time" ... either way everyone has to keep up the good work in the republican party. too much has been invested into the GOP to cease.

Yep, my thinking exactly. For now, the GOP route is the only one we have, and the one that must be continued with--particularly in light of a few good victories at state convention levels.

Without saying much more and whipping up a semantics brew, it is funny how Ron Paul repeats "no intention" and "no plans" like a broken record. His most telling instance was when Tim Russert pressed him on the Meet the Press interview back in the winter. Dr. Paul said he wanted "wiggle room" on the third party issue, but said he's 99.9% against the idea.

Anyway, seems in line with my theory: Ron Paul doesn't want to run third party, and won't with the way things are going now. But he doesn't like absolutes, and keeps some unknown scenario in the back of his mind where such an alternative run could be launched.

He is being smart. Never say never.

Sick of the fact that they just keep asking that same question. Otherwise, nice interview, even though Cavuto's Fox was the worst of the the MSM in marginalizing.

Cavuto seems like a decent guy with some class though. At least he has never been rude.

Wonder why these business channels have lately been having Dr. Paul visit with them so much?

RP has been in politics long enough to know better than to say something will "never" happen.

Cavuto was tasked early on with making Ron look like a jerk, and he failed. Just think back to that interview when Cavuto tried to paint him as a criminal for saying the Brown's were exercising civil disobedience. Cavuto tried to tie him to illegality and was practically foaming at the mouth.

Cavuto deserves no respect. He should have been on his knees during today's interview begging forgiveness for his own part in marginalizing Ron. "They treated you like a quack" should have been "I apologize for treating you like a quack"

How is it that Cavuto doesn't remember being a major part of the problem? Selective amnesia? Two-faced lying? I think the latter.

You guys cry cry cry. It's all you do.

Cavuto, for the most part, has been good. One interview conducted one year ago he was arguing with Paul. Dear lord, how could he! Every since then he has had Paul on and respected his views and even agrees with him. What other hosts do that? Give me a break. I hate this constant crying and whining over this and that.

It's hard to tell sometimes when all I've seen from Cavuto was smugness and smearing of Paul.

Mmmm yes, Paul should go on the books making a tax protester argument which has been repeatedly rebuffed in both the courts. That's a way to win jokes.

It seems that many in the MSM are coming around to Paul for whatever reason. They go where the wind blows, and Ron Paul is blowing like a hurricane.

I agree. I saw an interview with Neil and Ron last year. Neil was asking Ron some rediculously absurd questions, but the look on Neil's face while he asked them was like, "Sorry Ron, they're making me," so I give him a little credit.
