I think they are more likely to turn to whatever socialist/fascist is in office promising to take care of them. I picture a propaganda campaign being launched: Guns for Food! Turn in your guns and sign up for the free food program!

I think you are forgetting that the Nazis were driven by a unity of spirit that overcomes all obstacles to a goal. With the conspiracy loons driving away more committed and saner members, the movement will never be cohesive enough to take advantage of an economic collapse.
